- Begraved Is Part Of Coffeestain's "Big Break Showcase" - 16 September 2026
BEGRAVED > The Big Break ShowcaseGreetings GraveboundCoffeeStain's Big Break Showcase is happening on September 29, and we're excited to share that Begraved will be featured! New games. New reveals. New trailers. And yes, an all new look at what we've been digging up in the dark. So you might want to ask the shopkeeper for a night off grave robbing and tune in. Over the last few months, we've been rather quiet, and some of you may have guessed why. If you suspected we'd locked ourselves away in the cave crypts to focus on development, you'd be absolutely correct. We've been hard at work on Begraved, alongside a few other commitments, and we're finally getting closer to sharing what we've been cooking. We're pretty excited for what's ahead and can't wait to show you more.Until then, keep your sword sharp and your torch lit. Laters Groobers, Jade - CM

- Demo News! New Dungeons And Events! - 15 June 2026
Begraved Dev Delve 4:Greetings, GraveboundIt's been nearly two months since our last Vlog so we have a packed one with important and juicy info, so for more visuals and my delightful voice do check it out on Youtube Here otherwise We have the blog breakdown for you to peruse. Demo Take Down For NowNooooooThe demo has served us incredibly well, helping generate buzz and more importantly, giving us a huge amount of valuable feedback over the past four months. However, it’s now quite outdated. Since its release, we’ve been hard at work expanding the game with new dungeons, a complete revamp of the Taxman, and major changes to how gold is earned, along with plenty more additions and improvements currently in our internal test build. So, why not just update the demo? While we did act on early feedback, adding fixes and much-requested quality-of-life improvements, for this next stage we need m…
- Meet The Grip Jaw Devs - 11 May 2026
Greetings GraveboundHeya! My name is Mae and I am working as an intern for Grip Jaw! I work mainly as a prop and environment artist, and am a student at Future games. I could not be happier working for Grip Jaw on Begraved and I've had a really great time gaining new experiences. Here are some work in progress things I've created while working on Begraved! I made a painting that the player will be able to hang up in their home. At the beginning we knew we wanted the style of the painting to be reminiscent of the medieval paintings, and so we thought why not have one of those ugly cat paintings? I also added a character from the game (Lulu) to make the painting relate to it more. For this I made a simple model in Blender and drew the art in Krita! Some furniture I made for the player to find and use. I had some cool concept images that I was inspired by and made the model in Blender as w…
- Weeping Woods In Progress - 22 April 2026
The Weeping WoodsGreetings Gravebound, back again with a little mini blog previewing the Weeping Woods, one of two dungeons you will be exploring before unlocking more locations. As mentioned in our last Dev Vlog, the Weeping Woods exist in large part because of the feedback we got from demo players. More variety in starting dungeons was the call, so hopefully we have answered. We had lots of ideas about how to add a new area, maybe spruce up the tutorial, make it a first‑run zone, however, with so many ideas from the team, it quickly became more fleshed out. So now it will have its own unique locations and unique dangers. The Weeping Woods has a definite spooky forest vibe with graveyards and Witches huts rich in atmosphere. - Shauni Shauni has been developing the witches’ hut and trees for the dungeon/area, with typical autumnal colours and very spoopy greens emanating from the hut. It…

- Begraved Flesh And Stone - 9 April 2026
Begraved - Flesh And Stone Greetings GraveboundWelcome to another Dev Delve, we have so much to talk about, including sneak peeks at two upcoming dungeons, along with early looks at swords and fishing rods we’re currently testing. Weeping WoodsOriginally, we planned for three additional dungeons to accompany the Cave Crypts. However, based on demo feedback, it became clear that the early game needed more variety. So, what was the solution?Another dungeon area. This gives players a choice between multiple dungeons while working to unlock the next area. With that in mind, here’s a sneak peek at The Weeping Woods. The Weeping Woods is still very much work in progress, blending Halloween vibes, witchy forests, and dark summoning rituals. What you see here is very much a blank canvas, which we are now starting to flesh out more. Foliage by ShauniSunken RestThe Sunken Rest is further along tha…
- Happy Eggfeast Day! - 5 April 2026
"Eggfast & Eggfeast" DayIntroducing a taste of the future with how we envision events and some new teases of what to expect in The Sunken Rest our third dungeon. "In the world of Begraved "Eggfast" is a day the high folk of Goria gift eachother golden & bejeweled eggs, a token of safe passage through the afterlife to the eternal fields of Paradise. For the lowborn, exchanges of simple boiled eggs colored in dyes, Though eating food on this day is strictly forbidden. Doing so shows your allegiance to the dark forces of Pandemonium." These valuables (created by Mae) are already in the Begraved demo, but we thought we would add some lore around them with our take on Easter. We want to create our own specific events, as well as ape real ones, with the main benefit of changing Begraved gameplay in small, funny, or unexpected ways in the future. For example, when Begraved is out, you may see…
- Meet The Grip Jaw Gravebound - 25 March 2026
Greetings GraveboundHi, this is not Jade, this is Finn. I’m one of the artists currently working on Begraved! We are a team of four Futuregames students (A Swedish games college) on an internship placement at Gripjaw, as the practical part of our Game Artist education. My “area of expertise” is 3D character art, which includes basically anything that can move. I create outfits, NPCs, cute creatures and monsters. Today I’ll be taking you on a little journey through my process, from messy sketches to functional, game ready 3D models! At Gripjaw we are very lucky to have a lot of freedom in what we create, even as interns! My process usually starts with a simple idea, either something that the game needs or something the team thinks would be fun to have. From there, I gather lots of reference images to draw inspiration from and start sketching my interpretations of the idea. The concept ar…

- NEXT FEST Demo, Tutorial And New Art - 30 January 2026

We’ve been hard at work polishing the build and adding those final touches to get it as good as we can including a tutorial refresh plus in today's blog new art in progress!Demo improvementsWe’ve been adding plenty of polish and finalizing the overall experience. One notable difference between the full game and the demo is the length of runs. In the full game, you have 5 days before the Tax-Man arrives, but for the demo we’ve shortened this to 3 days so players can get a better sense of a full run more quickly. We’ll have more details on what the demo includes next week.We also took a first stab at localization. We’re getting some help from Steam services and community members, but we’d love additional support from anyone interested in helping with future translations, so Join our Discord fo…
