Social struggles media simulator Emily Is Away has officially launched some more teen drama for you to live through. Like the previous Emily Is Away games, it ferries you back to the days of social media past. It's Facebook circa 2008 this time, where you'll navigate the trials and tribulations of your senior year through "Facenook" messenger and wall posts and pokes and playlists and more. I am floored by the sheer number of indie games available at the moment. If you look, there’s a game about nearly everything under the sun — multipalyer kissing , packing up an old apartment , baseball lesbians , haunted empty MMO servers , Bitsy poems about the sea , and alien art exhibitions . If you have only ten seconds to spare, five minutes, or two hours, there’s a free game for that. We are spoiled for thoughtful, considered, clever, and weird self-published games. I consider it a great honour and a privilege to delve into the depths of itch.io (or Steam, or weird flash game aggregate websites, or wherever) to bring you fresh, free indie titles week after week. Kyle Seeley’s Emily Is Away series feel like interactive time capsules. An all-too-vivid recollection of what social media felt like, and how it affected the lives of people back in the day. In the upcoming third instalment Emily Is Away <3 , Players have to say goodbye to AOL Instant Messenger and begin their descent into the only slightly invasive (at the time) vortex that is Facebook, circa 2008. Oh God. Emily Is Away Too , a game about instant messaging, is giving me horrible flashbacks to when I used MSN Messenger in school and used random 50 Cent lyrics as my screen names on rotation. If there was a switch to give all players cards I certainly would press it. Check out more specific details on your 'Badges' page. Future Plans Currently I'm working on iOS and Android versions of Emily hopefully to be released in the coming month or so. Still no updates on a potential sequel but it's something I'm definitely considering. And seriously, thank you all for playing! I am so grateful for the support the steam community has shown me. We're closing in on a million downloads so that's very exciting!
