• Smoother Online Multiplayer - 11 August 2026

  We've just launched an update focused on improving multiplayer latency and making online play smoother!If you're experiencing high ping in multiplayer, change your server region in the Options menu. Depending on where you're playing from, a different nearby region may give you a better connection.For players in mainland China, new installs will now default to our Hong Kong server, which is our closest available server region. Players in mainland China will continue to default to "best"*ChangesReduced the amount of data sent over the network each tick, which should improve multiplayer performance, especially on higher-latency connections.Fixed an issue where the other player's hamster could stop displaying its running animation under high-ping conditions.Server region names are now easier to understand.Added ping information to our internal logging so we can identify edge case connection…

• Hamster Ballers Release Date Set! - 6 July 2026

  Hello Hamster Ballers!We're excited to announce the release date for the game is set for August 10th, 2026. We've taken into account the feedback from the demo and made a few adjustments like:Improving shadow positioningCamera sensitivity optionsAn option for removing the bomb barAdjusting some of the course difficultyAnd of course fixing bugs :')Given that the full game is launching soon, we will be taking down the demo by the end of next week (July 17th, 2026).   Hello, Hamsters! Over the past few days, we’ve been amazed to see so many players in Japan discovering, playing, and sharing Hamster Ballers. Thank you so much for the warm response. It genuinely means a lot to our small team. To make the game easier for more players to enjoy, Hamster Ballers is now fully playable in Japanese! You can enable Japanese in either of these ways: • Open the Options menu in-game and select Japanese under “Language” • On Steam, make sure the demo’s launch option is set to Japanese The free demo is available now during Steam Next Fest. • Easy Mode, Progress Bar, and Bug Fixes - 3 June 2026

  We've added a multiplayer easy mode, an obstacle course progress bar, and have fixed some annoying bugs in this latest update.New features:Multiplayer Easy Mode: Enable this to make the 2-player bomb bar a lot more forgiving by increasing the number of presses required before you blow up. Turn this on or off in Options when playing the game.Progress Bar: We've added a progress bar to show you've gotten in the obstacle course, with indicators of where the next checkpoint is. Don't give up, keep going!Bugs Fixed:On laggy connections, the bomb explosion sound would sometimes play when you haven't actually blown up. We've now fixed this.Thanks,Nick and Robin

• You Can Now Start From Saved Checkpoints - 18 May 2026

  We just updated the Hamster Ballers demo so you can now start from checkpoints you’ve reached!Now, once you reach a checkpoint, it will be saved. The next time you play, you can choose which saved checkpoint to start from, both online or solo.A couple notes:Checkpoint progress from before this update was not saved, so older progress will not appear.Any checkpoints you reach from now on will be saved going forward.You can choose your starting checkpoint when beginning a run.This was a clear pain point, so we wanted to get it in.
