- THE LAG FIX IS HERE! - 8 June 2023
The development of XENOTILT directly enhances DEMON'S TILT. The past few patches we've done are actually based on discoveries we made optimizing and improving the sequel. In this latest patch we changed up how the locked / unlocked frame rate behavior works. Locked now locks at the refresh rate of your monitor (it used to lock at 60 regardless), and unlocked now is unlocked--letting your FreeSync / GSync take over. However, regardless of what kind of monitor you have, we find that unlocked combined with a few physics tweaks we made have eliminated any small amount of flipper lag people may have been experiencing--even on low end systems. The lag on the old builds was super small, but we find that if you use the unlocked option in this build you get very little, if any. Let us know how this works for you! We've tested it internally on PC and Steam deck...and it seems to work great. And y…

- Exclusive: The sickest pinball game of 2019 is getting a sequel - 26 January 2023
Pinball contains multitudes. I mean, not just multiball—pinball has a rich history of games within games, like the mini pinball table below the playfield in The Munsters or the boxing minigame in Champion Pub . 2019's Demon's Tilt, a pinball game I loved , embraced the benefits of a virtual table by being multiple screens tall, throwing bullet hell attacks at your ball, and having more than one secret sub-table to discover (real-life bowling would be a lot cooler if there was a giant skull at the end of the lane )... - XENOTILT: HOSTILE PINBALL ACTION - 26 January 2023
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2008980 Four years ago we released DEMON’S TILT on Steam Early Access. Since then the game has succeeded beyond our wildest expectations. We’re extremely thankful to our fans across the globe for making DEMON’S TILT a cult classic worldwide. We’re sure you’ll be excited about this announcement: GET READY FOR ANOTHER PINBALL FANTASY! This time we’ve got turbo-charged, retro inspired, face-melting video pinball in the sci-fi dimension. Come aboard the SAMARITAN, a derelict ship turned HOSTILE. Has anyone survived? All of your favorite elements of DEMON’S TILT are back: the rituals (protocols), the baddies, and the INSANE CHALLENGE to battle amongst the (multi) BILLIONAIRES. We’ll be releasing more details, i…
- More Steam Deck Polish - 31 May 2022
We've seen a few reports of issues with Steam Deck so we're looking into them. The first thing I noticed is the game was actually running at the wrong resolution by default. For some reason setting the resolution in options didn't do anything either. The latter was probably due to some kind of weird Steam Deck specific Proton issue. To fix this, I updated to the latest Steam SDK so the game can detect whether it's running on desktop or Steam Deck. Now the game is forced into Steam Deck's native resolution (you'll see the resolution as AUTO in the settings) when running on device. You MIGHT have to delete and re-install the game to get this fix to really take. You'll know you are in the right resolution if you don't see black bars on the top and bottom--also it was making the remapping panel and a lot of in game text look weird. This should all be resolved, and now you have a nice extra…
- NOW STEAM DECK VERIFIED! - 28 May 2022
WE'VE GONE GREEN You've had this build in your hands (literally!) for awhile now, but we finally got word from Valve that DEMON'S TILT is now Steam Deck Verified! When we first received our devkits the unpatched game ran pretty well. Still, it needed a little lovin'. Some basic things we changed: TEXT READABILITY: We didn't change much of the text, but specifically for credits and the patch notes we increased the font size to make it more readable on the small screen. Addressing this issue in the rest of the GUI requires more of a redesign. Yet, all the relevant game info seems easily readable on device. GUI ISSUES: We made sure the entire interface was accessible via control pad. There were some weird focus issues where you needed to use a mouse or touch screen to access some parts of the GUI. EXTERNAL CONTROLLERS: For some reason the pre-patch build didn't work with Bluetooth controll…
- Yet another patch!!! This one is a bit more consequential. - 13 May 2022
Ok so, it first started as a patch for Steam Deck to improve readability of a few things and some interface issues to get Steam Deck verified. But then we discovered a few things. Eliminated Trigger Dead Zone: We made the analog triggers super sensitive--so now you just have to lightly touch them to flip. For people using analog triggers for flipping, this may reduce perceived lag. Removed Quality Levels: Now the game is always in THE BEST quality mode. We found in some cases it was defaulting to Medium--which means a lot of you were missing out on cool color FX etc. The quality levels haven't actually been necessary since Early Access--as the game wasn't optimized at all. Some UI Adjustments: We resized the patch notes, credits, and remapping screen to be more visible on Steam Deck. We also made patch notes totally accessible via control pad.
- The most minor fix of all time - 6 May 2022
We noticed the patch notes button hung around on the main menu screen no matter which sub menu you were in--so we hide it after you click one menu deep. Which I could have sworn it used to do--so anyway now that minor polish issue is addressed.
- Fixed really obscure but annoying bug - 21 April 2022
Ok here's probably the last of the little fixes--I fixed an obscure bug where the title screen music wasn't using the mixer settings in the game. So if you muted the sound and backed out to the menu you'd get full blast title screen music. Now the title screen uses the mixer settings from the main game. For some reason though, prefs are getting reset with new versions and I'm not sure why. So sorry for the annoyance but I'll look at that next.
- Camera Lock Offset now REALLY fixed! - 18 April 2022
Ok! So it required a slightly different approach to the fix, but now the camera lock offset works properly when you reset the game. So the camera lock feature should now be totally functional. Thanks for spotting these obscure bugs!! ːSilverBallː
- Billionaires Achievement Fix - 6 April 2022
The Billionaire's Club achievement should be fixed. This may not have been popping due to the fixes we made to the score system in the original patch.
- Ok I SWEAR the mouse is fixed now - 29 March 2022
Ok--the mouse should hide properly now and cause no performance issues.
- Yet another mouse 'fix' - 29 March 2022
Ok--the fix we did for the mouse pointer did more bad than good, so now we reverted to the old broken flickering "hidden" mouse pointer. This bug will probably remain until we do an engine upgrade in the near future.
- A tiny update has appeared! - 29 March 2022
Hey we just pushed out a very small update that was causing performance problems with some graphics cards due to some new mouse hiding code using an invalid texture. It should be fixed now!
- FINALLY, A NEW PATCH RELEASE - 25 March 2022
IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME... OK! It's been QUITE AWHILE since the last update. But here we are with the latest and greatest build for all DT fans to enjoy. WHAT'S NEW * FIXED SCORE BUGS! So EXTREME high scorers may have noticed inaccurate scores, or even scores going backwards?! We made sure all calculations are done with longs now so this should never happen. We've blasted the game with some pretty absurd scores and impossibly high multipliers and not seen any problems. * VIBRATION If you go into the EXPERIMENTAL panel, you can toggle on vibration. It's under experimental because we can't really guarantee it's great on all controllers, but for most of the ones we tested it's cool. (Also, there's not a lot of room in options to put it elsewhere!) * STEAM DECK SUPPORT We're not verified quite yet, but I think this update should address the minor glitches Valve found when attempting to get St…
- STEAM DECK UPDATE IS IN PROGRESS! - 29 January 2022
Right out of the box DEMON'S TILT runs great on Steam Deck! We're testing the game thoroughly on our Steam Deck dev kit. So far, so good! This looks like the ideal Steam Deck game. Currently, we're researching ways to make Tate work best on it. We'll probably have a few button configurations for holding it on either end--so you can toggle that set of defaults on and off instead of having to re-bind keys every time you want to try this vertically. (Basically how we did it on Switch Lite) If you have any ideas for features and enhancements you'd like to see in the Steam Deck update, let us know!
