- ESCAPE RUIN – MAJOR UPDATE - 15 September 2026
The node-based climb map was not the experience we wanted for Escape Ruin. We know we went quiet for a while, but we needed to take a step back, reconsider the direction of the game, and dedicate our time to building this new vision. This update represents a major reworking of Escape Ruin, from its world and exploration to its combat, progression, encounters, and rewards. A NEW OPEN WORLD Replaced the node-based climb map with a new open-world map. Players can freely travel across the world and choose which Lairs they wish to visit. Lairs are now large, interconnected areas containing numerous rooms to explore rather than fixed sequences of five combats. Introduced a room-hardness system to better control the difficulty of individual rooms. Added roaming enemies and patrol tracking throughout Lairs. Added step-ladder passive buffs that develop as players progress through an area. Some r…

New Cards & Art Added artwork for the Cycle of Spores effect. Patient Footing and Patient Footing Upgrade have been updated. General Improvements Combat animations and visual feedback for sanctity changes have been improved. New effects have been added to the effects pool, expanding what cards and encounters can do. - March Update: Descent - 12 March 2026
The ruins have grown. What once seemed like the edge of the known depths has revealed itself to be only the beginning. Paths that were sealed have cracked open, old lairs have awakened, and darker powers now stir beneath the surface. Creatures long buried have begun to crawl back into the light, and they are not pleased to see visitors. With this update, explorers will discover new floors beneath the existing descent, each filled with their own horrors, factions, and forgotten domains. The deeper you go, the more the world begins to resist you. But the descent is not without aid. The forge has finally begun to burn again, allowing weapons and techniques to be sharpened between expeditions. Meanwhile, a certain wandering Witch has decided that the chaos of the ruins is the perfect place to do business. Whether her help is wise to accept remains to be seen. Sharpen your blades. Stock your…
- Patch Notes — Small Fixes, Big Consequences - 6 February 2026
Added Tooltips Enchancements Because guessing is fun — but not that fun. Blacksmith Card Upgrades Sharpen your steel. Improve your cards. The Hunt Begins The Gods now actively hunt those who challenge them. (Yes, we mean the Corrupted ones. No, they’re not happy about it.) Warning for Corruption Runs Added a clear warning when using Pray in Rest scenes during Corruption runs. You can still do it — just don’t say we didn’t warn you. Updated UI Tooltips Clearer, more consistent, less “what does this do?” Rest Scene Tweaked for better flow and readability. Some Encounters Adjusted to be more doable. Still dangerous — just less unfair. Merchant Prices No more accidental daylight robbery. Fixed Card Rewards Starter deck cards will no longer appear as rewards. (Sorry about that — that one’s on us.) Kael’Zarak, the Crimson Warlock Has returned from vacation. (Fixed a bug where he simply refuse…
