• Perception adds new difficulty modes, extra dialogue - 1 November 2017

  A post about Perception ? Today? A spooky game? On November 1st? When the pumpkins are already rotting on the doorstep? Hey buddy, to me every day is Halloween . And I am always interested in exploring a haunted house as a blind woman blessed with magical echolocation powers. While Perception didn’t quite come together, as Adam said in his review developers The Deep End Games have returned to overhaul and revamp it a little. They’ve launched an update adding new difficulty modes — both easier and more difficult — while expanding the story a little and improving performance. (more…)

• Remaster - MASSIVE UPDATE - 1 November 2017

  Hi guys! You spoke, we heard! Massive update of Perception paired with a big discount is coming right at you! Fresh, new modes - to match gameplay to your preferences “Perception - Remastered” presents you with 2 new game modes, which you can choose after starting a new game. Story - Focus on the narrative. Cassie cannot die so you can explore Echo Bluff freely. Spooky - Original version of the game, remastered Scary - For players who are seeking more challenge. Presence is more aggressive, Cassie has less health and if she dies, you are going to be transferred back to the Main Menu to reload a save game. Performance Improvements The game now runs in a higher framerate. Additional checkpoints + resurrection points We added additional checkpoint to load your game from, also when Cassie dies instead of starting from the beginning of the chapter you’re transferred closer to the action.   Hello everybody! First of all, thanks so much for supporting Perception! It means a lot to us! We're happy to announce that the new patch is now available with the following fixes: Language Selection You can now change the subtitle language from within the game Keyboard Remapping Please keep in mind that this functionality is still far from perfect and while you're able to remap keys you won't see correct prompts when approaching doors etc. In other words, you need to remember your layout because the game will be always showing you the default prompts. Also, hitting "Reset to defaults" won't impact Sprint, you need to change that manually. This will be addressed in the future patch. Streaming issues aka Chapter 4 looks weird / doesn't work We noticed that a small number of players were experiencing issues in Chapter 4. Not anymore! It has been fixed and should work properly!   Perception has pedigree. It’s the first game from a new studio, but members of the team have worked on BioShock, BioShock Infinite and Dead Space. Crowdfunded to the tune of $160,000, Perception didn’t simply rely on past glories though; it has one of the strongest hooks I’ve ever seen in a horror game. You play as a blind woman, exploring a haunted (?) house, using echolocation to find your way around, and to discover escape routes when necessary. Sounds good? Here’s wot I think. …
