- Why I removed Shoot Pro Wrestling 2 from sale on Steam - 10 July 2026
Hello, Jason, the lone developer of Shoot Pro Wrestling 2 here, and today I want to explain why I made the difficult decision to remove SPW2 from sale on Steam. The short versionFirstly, let me state that the game's removal from sale was completely voluntary, and was done at my request. Existing owners will still have full access to the game and will continue to receive game updates, when they become available.Secondly, apologies for the delay between the game being "retired" on Steam and me posting this announcement. There's no quick button for developers to pause sales of their games on Steam, so I had to make my request via support messages spread over several days. Unfortunately, the message confirming the game had been removed from sale came through in the middle of the night for me, and I then had a full day of my 9-5 job to get through before I even got to read it.Why I removed SP…
- Shoot Pro Wrestling 2 Dev Log 9th April 2026 - 9 April 2026
Hello, Jason here. It's been a few weeks since the last update to Shoot Pro Wrestling 2 went live, so I just wanted to check in with you and let you know what I've been working on with the game.Working on Update 0.3As mentioned in the release notes for Update 0.21, this next update I'm working on, Update 0.3, will make some changes to the behind the scenes functions of the match engine. These changes will allow the implementation of outside interference in matches, and also allow tag team matches to finally be added.Due to these changes to the match engine potentially breaking things and requiring more in-depth testing, it's meant that this update is taking longer than the quick weekly updates that I had been doing since SPW2 first released in early access, so I humbly ask for your patience. There's only me working on this game, so I can only focus on one area at a time, and if I inadve…
- Update 0.21 is Live - 13 March 2026
Hello, Jason here again. I just want to quickly run through some of the new features added in Update 0.21 of Shoot Pro Wrestling 2.This update mostly brings in a few quality of life improvements that people have been asking for, but it's good to get them out of the way with a quick update before I move on to adding bigger things.Nations mean moreThe first two additions in 0.21 are intended to make different nations and countries mean more, rather than just being another set of venues to run.Firstly, AI companies will now only run events in their own home country. This is somewhat of a stop-gap solution to prevent local indie companies apparently hopping all over the world with shows. It also now gives different countries their own "wrestling scene" with unique companies.I say this is a stop-gap solution because eventually a mechanic will be added in to allow larger AI companies to run i…

- Update 0.2 is LIVE! The Titles Update - 27 February 2026
Hi, Jason here with some more news for you. I've just made Update 0.2 live, and it brings changes to the titles system.Title HistoriesBy clicking on a Title on the Roster screen, you can now view the full history for that title.Don't worry, your title histories have been saved in the background since you started playing the game (even though you couldn't see them). So, with Update 0.2, you now view the histories that were hiding back there.Vacate and Delete TitlesOn each title history screen, you'll also see buttons to either vacate a title or delete it completely. Just be warned that deleting a title completely removes it from the database along with all its history, so only delete a title if you're really sure you don't need that history. If the history doesn't matter to you, there's no harm in deleting a title, as you can always resurrect it later, in name only, using the next new fea…

- Shoot Pro Wrestling 2 is Released in Early Access - 20 February 2026
Hi, I'm Jason Webb, the developer of Shoot Pro Wrestling 2, and I'm pleased to tell you that I've just released the game into Early Access.I apologise for this coming out of the blue with no prior notice of a release date. As a solo indie developer, there's always the risk that unknown problems might arise, so I didn't want to risk announcing a date and then missing it.I Want Your FeedbackMy intention is for this early access period to only last a couple of months, so during this period I want to gather your feedback on what you'd like to see in the game, and what information you want presented on the various screens to make the game more immersive and enjoyable. One of the risks of being a solo developer is that a game can end up being tied too closely to my personal vision, which may not be what players actually want, so I really want to hear what you as a player want. I've set up a su…
- Shoot Pro Wrestling 2 Development Update - 11 February 2026
Hello, Jason Webb, the sole developer of Shoot Pro Wrestling 2 here, and I just wanted to give you a quick update of what I've been working on with the game as we head towards Early Access.Updated Wrestler ProfilesI've done a bit of a refresh on the wrestler profile page to make use of some of the spaces that were there before. On the left is a scout/agent report that will be familiar to anybody who played my original Shoot Pro Wrestling game.I've also made the font for the skill stats a bit bigger to improve readability on smaller screens. While it would be nice to offer the user customisable UI scaling, I'm afraid that's stretching my resources as a solo indie developer a bit far. Therefore, I'm trying to find the right compromise between readability and getting the optimal amount of information on each screen.Promo SystemWhile the matches in SPW2 are live and dynamic, with wrestling…
- Developer Feature Preview - 29 January 2026
Hello, I'm Jason Webb, the lone developer of Shoot Pro Wrestling 2, and I just want to show you this feature preview video of Shoot Pro Wrestling 2.In this video, I talk you through some of the main screens you'll be using while playing the game, and introduce you to some of the information and features you'll find there.Your opinion is importantAs you'll see in the video, some screen areas still have empty spaces where new information and game data can be placed, and deciding what data to place in those spaces will be one of the key goals of the early access period. I want Shoot Pro Wrestling 2 to be as close to the perfect wrestling manager or booker game as I can get, so I want your feedback and what information you want on each screen to make the game both immersive and fun to play.Thank you for taking a look at the video, and I look forward to speaking to you again soon.Jason Webb…
- On Target For Release - 25 January 2026
Great news... all Steam approval processes are now complete for Shoot Pro Wrestling 2, so the game can be released whenever I feel it is ready.Planned Release DateAs a solo indie developer, it can sometimes be hard to judge exactly how long a particular game mechanic will take to get working the way I want it to work, but I confident that the game should release into early access in the first half of February. I'd initially hoped for a release before the end of January, but certain parts of the game, such as the contract mechanic shown below, took a little longer to get right than I'd planned. The wrestler contract negotiation screen (work in progress)About Early AccessOn the subject of Early Access, I'm planning for the game to only remain in EA for a month or so, with a full Version 1.0 release coming before the end of March. While it would have been nice to go straight for a V1.0 rele…
