- Early Access is now LIVE! - 23 September 2026
After a year of work..... today is finally THE day. For the past year, the team at PUG has grown from one person with some conceptualized boxes, a throwing mechanic, and a dream ..... to 9 members, a workers co-op, and something tangible and real and available for purchase!! Our team has poured MANY hours, ideas, late nights and LOVE into this game... and now it's finally come together and is ready to show to the world! There have been plenty of challenges along the way, like ... learning about how to establish a business (and a co-op, at that!) in-tandem with coding, playtesting, art, narrative, and ....everything in between. BUT! -- much like our tenacious and diligent little gobbos, we kept building, we kept creating, we kept learning, and we kept pushing forward to the next wave! As of right now, our game is officially in Early Access!!! ... and this is only the beginning! There are…
- Steam Deck Compatible - Not yet "Verified" - 16 September 2026
We've been building Dig Too Deep with controllers, Linux, and Steam Deck in mind from the start. There has been a lot of iteration and tuning especially with what controls feel good. When the game launches the Store Page will say "Steam Deck Compatibility: Unknown" because Valve has no pre-release process for getting the green Verified check.Instead they wait for you to play it. They gather metrics and heuristics and if enough players play it for enough time it gets a yellow 'maybe' check. That puts the game into queue for automated, maybe some manual tests. If those tests go well the green check goes on.We have run through the checklist they go through ourselves. From our interpretation of the guidelines we're good to go, so we're expecting the Green check once they decide we're worthy of testing. But you never really know with these things. They don't tell us a ton about what they loo…
- We're Almost Ready for Early Access! Launching Sept 23rd! - 13 September 2026
Seattle Indies Expo was a huge success. Over 100 people stopped by to play, hundreds of pixely goblin stickers were given away, and the team got to meet so many people interested in the idea of Cooperative game development. Now we are focused on our Early Access launch which is just over 1 week away! Our members are busy testing, preparing launch materials, crossing T's and dotting I's.Just 1 year ago the first prototype version of Dig Too Deep had one big pink square throwing a little green square at a 3rd blue square and printed 'Working!'. The pink square became Ol'Berta. The Green square became a goblin. The solo project became a CooperativeThe Cooperative is becoming a Movement. For too long, AAA studios have squeezed the creative life out of us. They hoarded the wealth we helped generate. They fired us when our wages became inconvenient. They laid us off right after successful relea…

Its time for Progress and Achievements! After the fall of the old world, there was a boat load of crap lying around. That crap had to go somewhere, so the goblins built the Hall of Crap! - Throwing Iron Update - 29 May 2026
This update expands on a part of the game that has existed for a while but always seemed secondary. Throwing goblins is clearly more fun than throwing hunks of metal. Goblins love it too. But every once in a while there's a good reason to toss iron instead. Give it a try. You might like it. New Features - The "Big Iron Ball" finally got some love. Now it's a great weapon against the baddies. Throw it, bring it back, repeat! New perks expand on what you can do with them. - Controller gets to speed up time now. Hold L Trigger to speed up. Let go to go back to normal Changes - Big Iron Ball unlocks at start, Zap Trap moved to later - Building UI cleanup Fixes - Fixed throwable movement cycling bug - Can't place buildings on top of your troll anymore. - Polished camera controls
- Giving Credit Where Due Update (And basic Linux support (no sound yet)) - 25 May 2026
One of the big things we want to accomplish with our game is bringing new ideas to the world of game development. As huge as AAA games are, they often fail to properly credit people who contributed, or play political games with the Credits entries. We think that's crap. If someone worked on the game they deserve credit. Not only are our Credits clickable links out to portfolios but they're visible right on the main menu! They're in the Pause menu too. Randomization shuffles them so the lead designer doesn't get all the glory. Apart from that we have lots of fun polish. Oh and experimental Linux support. Unfortunately we dont have a Linux machine except for Steam Deck so let's call it experimental because we have no idea if it works! On paper it should work. If it works, it doesn't yet have music or much sound, but that'll come soon (days I hope) New Features - Navigation arrows for cred…
