• Playtest results + future plans - 16 June 2026

  Fellow Wizards!The public playtest has ended, thanks to everyone who participated! If you have requested access and gained it during the time it was public, you will remain to have access to the game until the demo release.Now I wanted to do a little write up on the data and feedback that I've seen and what the plans are for the game going forward!The numbers291 players have gained access to the playtest, and 39 friend invites were sent. (with 25 still pending, I believe these invited players can still gain access even if the playtest is not public if they accept.)46 of these players who gained access actually opened the game! And together achieved a mean (average) playtime of 34 minutes. Most of these players came from the US, but also some from New Zealand and Vietnam!On average per run:Took about 5 minutes till exit (either by dying or going through the portal)Players got to level 11…

  Fellow Wizards!The public playtest is now live!Anyone who applies gets instantly access and will have access to the game until the demo launch. If you apply after the Steam Bullet Fest ends (June 15th) you'll be on the waiting list for the next playtest.Please note that the game is still a work in progress, visuals, sounds and other things may or may not change during the development course.In this playtest are 10 spells, 16 augments and 22 items to be found.   Hello fellow wizards,This is a short update, I've been hard at work getting bugs smashed and the flow of the game in a good state. So it is time for a public playtest! Now some of you have seen the big green button on the store page already to request access, and there are a few hundred people waiting to try it out! Next week Monday (June 8th) I'll let everyone in and the playtest will remain open for the duration of the Bullet Fest. • Designing unique minions and spells - 4 May 2026

  Hello everyone,Today I'd like to chat about the thought process of creating a new minion (or spells in general). And why they should be the way they are. So a few days ago I added a new minion to the roster of already existing minions in the game. For the demo / play-test purposes I already added 3 minions that each have a different goal in the game, and I felt like the game needed a 4th one for the complete package.Giving the player a wider choice like this adds a bit of 'Intellectual Problem Solving', a common form of fun which you also see in ARPG's like Diablo / Path of Exile for example, where you have to figure out if equipping item A or B is better and in what circumstances it is better. Because sometimes A is only better than B if X applies.In Ultimate Wizard, you don't know beforehand what augments you are going to get in a run, so you could go for 4 Summon Crab spells and hope…
