  • For Content Creators on YouTube and Other Platforms - 3 August 2026

First and foremost, we would like to express our enormous gratitude to everyone who decided to tell their audience about The TRAM during the Open Alpha Test. For indie projects, it is incredibly important that players discover them and add these games to their Steam wishlists, as this greatly improves the chances of their continued development succeeding. After the Open Alpha Test ended, we received messages from people who wanted to tell their audience about The TRAM but did not manage to participate in the public test. We have therefore decided to open access to the alpha version for influencers: you will be able to make videos about the game, stream it for your audience, or simply enjoy driving the tram if you feel like it :)Please note: this is the exact same version of the game that was available during the Open Alpha Test, with all the same bugs, issues, and unfinished features. It…

  • The TRAM Open Alpha Test Has Ended! - 27 July 2026

A huge thank you to everyone who took part. It was an amazing week!During the test, more than 6,000 people had the chance to try The TRAM, and the game surpassed 10,000 wishlists. Thank you so much for your interest and support! We received an incredible amount of feedback and were able to see how players interact with The TRAM—what already works well and what still needs to be fixed or improved. All of this will help us make the game more technically accurate, intuitive, and enjoyable to play.We would especially like to thank the real-life tram drivers who joined our Discord server and pointed out various inaccuracies. We have not yet had time to reply to everyone, but we have collected your feedback, and many fixes have already been added to our development queue. We were also thrilled to see so many videos about The TRAM on YouTube! A huge thank you to all the content creators who intr…

  • The TRAM: Open Alpha Test! - 21 July 2026

The TRAM Open Alpha Test Is Now Live!Until July 27, you can join the Steam Playtest and try The TRAM in its current stage of development. Why a Playtest instead of a demo? The TRAM is not yet ready for a full demo release. This is a genuine development build—much like the version we work with and test ourselves every day.It still contains many bugs, unfinished mechanics, and temporary solutions, while some elements have yet to receive their final polish. We still have a great deal of work ahead of us!Nevertheless, we decided that Steam Train Fest was the perfect time for an Open Alpha Test. It gives us an opportunity to show you the game right now—and gives the community a chance to take part in its development from a very early stage. Your feedback will help us understand what already works well and what needs more attention. What is included in the alpha version? The current version of Th…

  • Physics in The TRAM - 14 July 2026

Tram physics in The TRAM is one of the key features of our game. Most games use splines to simulate the movement of rail vehicles. The model is rigidly attached to a smooth line and moves along it. At best, you may see a simulation of the tram car and the driver swaying inside the cab.The TRAM offers a completely different experience. Every movement, jolt, and sway of the tram car is determined by the track itself. The tram's wheels run along two actual rails, transferring every irregularity to the body and then to the player's camera. To recreate the experience of real tram drivers as closely as possible, The TRAM will let you drive both on modern high-speed sections and on old, worn-out tracks where common sense will impose a strict speed limit.Driving too fast on such sections or through curves can easily cause the tram to derail. But even if you drive with extreme care, many challenges…

  • The TRAM: Day and Night Cycle - 5 April 2026

These days, the whole world is looking up at the sky again: the Artemis program is bringing humans back to the Moon. It’s a historic and truly significant event for everyone interested in space - and we’re sure there are plenty of such people among public transport enthusiasts as well!So today we’d like to talk a little about the Moon. More precisely - about how the day and night cycle works in The TRAM.Our goal is to create an атмосферic experience that can take you back to the early 2000s. And to achieve that, it’s important to pay attention even to details that might not seem essential for a tram simulator at first glance. In The TRAM, the Sun, the Moon, and the starry sky follow astronomical rules as close to reality as possible:- the paths of the Sun and the Moon match real-world observations and change throughout the year - seasons affect their height in the sky: in winter, the Sun…

  • The TRAM: PCC streetcar simulator? - 23 March 2026

From American 40's...PCC streetcars became one of the symbols of American cities in the 1940s. They replaced outdated rolling stock and introduced a new level of comfort.Smooth acceleration was made possible by the accelerator — a giant electromechanical controller that finely regulates the current. After WWII the PCC technology It spread across Europe under license — to Italy, Spain, Belgium……and even to Czechoslovakia. The T1 cars were almost a direct copy of the PCC trams. To European 2000s And the T3 featured in The TRAM is, in many ways, still true to its roots. Acceleration is controlled by the accelerator — and the accelerator is controlled by you. With a pedal. The power pedal has 5 traction positions. The higher the position, the more current you feed into the tram. Once the input is given, the accelerator starts rotating, gradually cutting out resistors. Here you can see the accel…

  • The TRAM: Questions and Answers - 17 March 2026

Hello everyone!Thank you all so much for your interest in The TRAM! Only a few days have passed since the announcement, but our Discord server has already gathered a large number of interesting questions. Today we will answer them so that as many people as possible can learn more details about The TRAM!First, a few words about us:TGR is a team that has been part of the transport games community for many years. We started with a fan site featuring mods for Cities in Motion, and over the years we grew into large modding communities for various games, including Cities: Skylines and Transport Fever. For several years, we had been nurturing the idea of creating our own game. After considering different options, we decided to focus first and foremost on a tram simulator, since this is the most realistic option for a small team.We want to bring a new experience to the world of tram simulators:…
