She shows up right on your HUD bar, hands gripping the edge, and sticks around until you've got the basics down.- Her dialogue now advances on a click instead of a timer, so you can read at your own pace.- Finishing her lessons wraps up the tutorial and hands you full control of the game. The War Room- Before your first march to battle, you'll now pass through a b…

v0.0.6.0A new hub town between the title screen and your castle, a livelier title screen with music and a working Credits screen, audio and display settings polish, and a more patient computer opponent.New: The Hub TownHitting Play on the title screen now drops you into a hub town instead of straight into a match. Head over to the castle to march off to battle — there's also a beggar hanging around town who you can look at for now, with more to come there later.Whichever one you're looking at brightens up while everything else in town — including the background — dims down slightly, so it's easy to tell what you're about to interact with. The Title Screen Has Come AliveThe title screen now has music playing in the background. The menu options get a subtle rippling shimmer the moment you hover over them. The Credits button now actually opens a Credits screen, listing out the team behind the…

Hey everyone, Uneven Pixel here, lead programmer for They're Gonna Get In! You haven't heard from me before outside of patch notes, so I wanted to introduce myself and, on behalf of the team at iCon Studios, let you know what's going on.We've had to re-evaluate our earlier build of the project to make sure we bring you the best product we can. That's pushed our projected release date back to 2027, instead of the end of this year. As excited as we are to get this game into your hands, we want to make sure it meets our standards — and, more importantly, lives up to yours. You may have noticed us posting patch notes for "Major Updates" on a game you can't play yet — that's because we're gearing up to share some really cool things. Our playtesting sessions are closed-door affairs right now, but if you ask nicely, we might be convinced to give you a little something before the full game launc…

The Fate Engine finally pays out for real, a proper pause menu, faster order menus, and a brand new title screen with an animated intro and social links.Build & EconomyClick your XP bar to open the Fate Engine for real: the action pauses while you spin the reels, then cash out for either a blueprint or a bundle of resources.Destroying an enemy building now rewards you with a blueprint for that building type.Your blueprint inventory can now page through multiple screens once you've collected more than fit on one page at a time.CombatFixed an issue where units attacking a building could end up standing inside it instead of at its edge, confusing nearby allies trying to navigate around them.Interface & InfoPressing Escape now brings up a proper pause menu: the screen dims, the action freezes, and you can resume, restart, adjust settings, quit to desktop, or end the match (with a confirmati…
- Alpha V. 0.0.4.0 - 13 July 2026
Garrisoning arrives — send units home to safety and put them to work behind your walls, where they'll grant real benefits to your kingdom instead of just standing idle. Alongside it: bloodier combat, a smarter and tougher computer opponent, a fully animated ruler portrait, and a big batch of interface polish.Build & EconomyUnits can now be sent home to garrison inside your castle for safekeeping via a new Station order, and buildings placed on interior plots will garrison their trained units directly instead of sending them out onto the field.Garrisoning and redeploying units costs a small amount of gold. Open your castle's garrison list to see everyone stationed there, and click an entry to bring that unit back out onto the battlefield. Stationing several units at once will station as many as you can afford, cheapest first.Garrisoned units now grant real, active bonuses to your kingdom…

A big development milestone — the core base-building and battle loop is now playable start to finish against a computer opponent, with a full combat system, unit and building info at your fingertips, and a first pass at art and polish across the board.Build & EconomyPlace buildings from a new blueprint panel: drag a building out and drop it onto an open plot to construct it.Five resource types (wheat, wood, water, gold, and iron) are now produced by dedicated buildings and tracked on a resource bar.Resource buildings run dry after producing enough over their lifetime, so a growing economy means building more of them rather than letting one carry you forever.Where you build matters: plots closer to the front lines grant sturdier, higher-output buildings, while plots tucked inside your walls are cheaper to build on.Train soldiers from dedicated buildings, with both a per-building and an a…

FixesFixed an issue where selecting your units and right-clicking to give them an order could fail to bring up the command menu. The enemy is starting to fight backWe've begun testing an opponent that plays by the same rules you do — no cheating, no secret advantages. It watches the battlefield, masses up its troops, and pushes an assault once it's ready. Still early days for it — think "learning the ropes," not "criminal mastermind" — but it's the first real step toward a castle under actual siege from someone other than you.Coming soon: building outside the wallsWe're laying the groundwork for base building beyond your castle's inner grounds. Soon you'll be able to put buildings out in the open field, not just behind your walls. Building out in the open comes with real risk — those spots sit closer to the fighting — but the payoff is worth it for those willing to take the gamble. More…
