Against the Computer If you want to play a real game but don't have anyone to play with, the AI provides you with three opponents, each with their own style. Charlie is the friendliest of the three. He plays for fun, takes whatever shot looks easiest, and forgives a lot of small mistakes. Beating him is mostly a matter of showing up. Vera is sharper. She picks her shots carefully, keeps the cue ball in sensible places, and will play a solid safety if she doesn't see a clean pot. You'll need to think about position to stay ahead of her. Silas is calculated and a bit smug. He plans every shot, lines up combinations and breakouts, and his safety play is genuinely reliable, so don't expect him to hand you the table by fouling out of a tight spot. He still isn't unbeatable. He can misjudge a long thin cut, and a difficult layout will rattle even him. Play a disciplined and solid game, and even Silas can be beaten. Play sloppily, and the table will clear before your turn. Practice Improve your aim, spin, power control, and cue ball position with practice mode. Position training places you in a random mid-game setup and requires you to pocket a specific ball, then position the cue ball in a specific area for the next shot. This is the skill that separates good players from great ones. Stuck-ball training flattens the ball against the rail and challenges you to figure out how to pocket it; one of the most difficult shots in billiards.
