  • Development Update & Prologue Rework - 20 September 2026

Hello everyone, Development of Deadset Darling is progressing as planned. While working on new scenes, I took another look at the prologue and realized that it no longer fully reflected the game’s current visual identity and quality. Since I first created the prologue, my approach to scene design, lighting, camera work, character presentation, and animation has improved significantly. The overall structure of the story and the journeys of its characters have also become much clearer over time. For this reason, I decided to update the opening of the game both visually and narratively. Renewed Prologue The prologue’s scene flow, dialogue, character introductions, and opening pace have all been revised. Its visual presentation has been updated, and several scenes have been recreated to better match the game’s current production quality. My goal was not to change the story, but to give it a…

  • Development Update & Festivals - 20 August 2026

Development Update — Episode 2 Part 1 CompleteHello everyone,It has been a while since I last posted a development update on Steam, so I wanted to share some news about the current state of Deadset Darling and the major changes I have made to the game recently.I have completed the first part of Episode 2.Episode 2 will be considerably longer and more extensive than the previous episode. Development of new content slowed down for a while because I was also making significant changes to the game’s core systems. However, development is now moving forward quickly again. The game is planned to consist of five episodes in total. Once Episode 2 is complete, a substantial part of the overall project will already be finished.During this process, I didn’t only produce new scenes. I also made important changes to the game’s core structure and the production systems I will be using in the future. As…

  • Development Update #4: Main Cast Complete - 5 July 2026

Hey everyone,I wanted to share a new Deadset Darling development update.Episode 2 production is still moving forward. Alongside scene work, I have also been finishing the remaining characters in the main cast. I previously mentioned that Deadset Darling would have a main cast of 8 characters, and with this dev update, the final two are now complete. This is an important milestone for production. Character creation is now finished (both story and visual side), Which means the focus can move fully toward completing Scenes, story progression, and character interactions. The two characters shown in the image are the final additions to the main cast:Mika Grumpy, sharp-tongued, and not easily impressed. Mika can seem cold, harsh, and even a little intimidating from the outside, especially when her patience is tested. Still, beneath that guarded exterior, she has an unexpected interest in kawaii…

  • Development Update #3 - 17 June 2026

Hello everyone,I’m happy to share that Episode 1 of Deadset Darling is now complete.Development continues from episode 2 onwards.I'm planning for the game to consist of 5 episodes. So far, this is a huge step forward. The episode continues Marcus’ story after the Prologue, as he arrives in Westbrook and begins rebuilding his life from almost nothing. • Progress Update #2 - 24 May 2026

Cast Preview: Ayleen & Chelsea + Episode 1 UpdateHey everyone,I wanted to share a small Episode 1 update and introduce two more characters who appear briefly in the upcoming episode.Episode 1 is now getting close to completion. Most of the episode is already written, rendered, or being prepared for integration into the game. I am currently working on the final scenes and getting everything ready for testing.I also plan to share a Patreon playtest version of Episode 1.This playtest build will not be the fully polished final version. It will be focused on testing the episode itself, so music and sound will not be included. The goal is to let supporters play through the episode early, check the pacing, find issues, and get a first look at the full Episode 1 content. At the moment, Episode 1 is expected to offer close to two hours of gameplay, depending on reading speed, exploration, and cho…

  • Big Progress Update #1 - 16 May 2026

Episode 1 Progress Update: Garage Work, Phone System & New CharactersHey everyone,It has been a little while since the last Steam update, so I wanted to share the current state of Deadset Darling.Episode 1 is getting closer to completion. Most of the main scenes are now finished, rendered, or being prepared for integration. There is still work left to do, but the episode is now entering its final stretch.Let me briefly talk about the content of episode 1.One of the main additions in Episode 1 is the garage work system. After the prologue, Marcus arrives in Westbrook with almost nothing. Ray’s Garage becomes one of the first places where he can earn money and start getting back on his feet. The garage is designed as a simple work mechanic. Players will be able to take small jobs, deal with customers, make basic choices during the repair process, and play short mini-games connected to the w…

  • Devlog #1 Systems - 22 April 2026

Hey everyone,I wanted to share a closer look at some of the core systems behind Deadset Darling as development moves further into Episode 1.The Prologue gave me a lot of useful feedback and a lot of valuable lessons as a developer. It helped me better understand what players responded to, what already worked, and what I want to push further in the full game. One of the key systems in Deadset Darling is the Sharp / Kind Personality System. Through both minor and major choices, the player gradually shapes their direction over time. Some decisions are smaller and more tonal, while others carry more weight and help define what kind of person the player chooses to become. The goal is to make personality feel like a natural part of the story rather than a simple good or bad meter. The game will also feature free-roam sections, designed to make exploration more meaningful, along with a collectib…

  • First Dev Update for Deadset Darling - 18 March 2026

Hey everyone,Just wanted to make a first proper post here and share a bit of progress on Deadset Darling. This is a solo-developed project, and lately I’ve been spending a lot of time polishing the parts that really shape the overall feel of the game. The prologue is finished, and right now my focus is mostly on menus, UI polish, and sound.A lot of the work at this stage is happening in the smaller details, but those details make a big difference. I want the first release to feel clean, polished, and atmospheric, so that’s where most of my attention is going at the moment.Things are moving forward nicely, and I’ll share more as development continues. Thanks for following the project.
