  • Hardwood Basketball Manager Update 1.2 - Cleared for Tip-Off - 16 September 2026

1.2 is live. Games are played in 3D now, there is sound for the first time, and the interface reads with a screen reader. The game in 3D Every match opens on a broadcast view of the floor. Watch every cut, screen, fast break, defensive adjustment. All of the action in real time on a detailed immersive court view. The crowd fills to what your gate actually sold, and the clocks on both stanchions run the real game clock and shot clock. The floor is painted in your club's colors and carries your city and nickname, drawn to whichever rulebook the league plays: the NHA's, FIBA's in Spain, the college line work in the CCC. The tactical overlay sits on top of all of it, toggled with the O key. It carries what 2D always carried: coverage lines, openness, the shot probability, who is getting doubled. 2D itself is still a view of its own under the Analysis view. Sound The game had none until now.…

  • Hardwood Basketball Manager update 1.1 adds Playbooks and Online Head to Head - 20 August 2026

1.1 is live. You can draw up your own plays and defenses now, and, for the first time, take them online against other people. Drawing up your own plays Under Tactics you'll find an editor for building your own sets. You give each of the five players a starting spot on the floor. Tell each one what to do and in what order: cut, screen, pass, or feed the post. Then mark who the ball should look for first. The game works out the rest, where everyone else stands. It also checks your work as you build: a screen has to sit on the cutter's route, and a design with no pass at all just plays as isolation, already its own call in the tactics menu. Instead of naming players, you describe what a spot needs: a cutter, a screener, a shooter. The game works out who on your roster fits that duty best and shows it as stars, though you can manually assign. A cut can read the defense live, breaking backdo…

  • Hardwood Basketball Manager 1.0.2: The International Update - 1 August 2026

1.0.2 is live, the first update since 1.0, and it sends the game outside the United States for the first time. A full Spanish league pyramid joins the NHA. Spain leads this update and brings with it full Spanish language support and a real NHA preseason. Spain: A New Way to Run a Club Hardwood's first international leagues live in Spain, and they run on different rules than the NHA. You answer to the president at a club with a budget, not a cap, and there's no draft. The only ways to get a player are to buy him, borrow him, or talk him into signing. The only ways to lose one are to sell him, let his deal run out, or watch somebody pay his release clause. A budget, not a cap. The league verifies your books instead of policing a hard cap number, so overspending means failing verification, not paying a tax. Finish last and you don't get a high pick, you get relegated. Four divisions and a…

  • Update Preview: Hardwood Basketball Manager adds international leagues next week - 24 July 2026

Hardwood's first international leagues live in Spain, and they work a bit differently from the NHA American pro league. No salary cap. No draft. You sit in the president's chair at a club with a budget, and the only ways to get a player are to buy him, borrow him, or talk him into signing. The only ways to lose one are to sell him, let his deal run out, or watch somebody pay his release clause. A budget, not a cap There is no cap number to stay under. There is a budget, and wages, running costs, and transfer fees all come out of it. The league verifies your books instead of policing a cap, so the punishment for overspending is not a tax bill, it is failing verification. Finishing last does not hand you a high pick either. Finishing last drops you a division. Every player has a price Transfers are club to club, for cash. Talks run both directions: rival clubs table bids for your players…

  • Hardwood Basketball Manager MASSIVE 1.0 Update - 11 July 2026

Hardwood Basketball Manager hits 1.0. It's the biggest update the game has had, everything built since work on the college league began, and it gives the game its full shape: a whole basketball pyramid, alive from a college program up through the pros. The college league A whole new league sits below the NHA now: 365 schools across 31 conferences, a full college basketball world. You're not a general manager here. You're a head coach, and the owner's chair becomes an Athletic Director you answer to.Recruiting is the heart of it, a season-long chase on a real calendar. You scout a class over the summer on a real summer circuit, where prospects play actual games and raise or wreck their stock in front of you. Your scouting fills in a prospect's true ability over time, so an early read is a bet, not a fact. Every recruit weighs winning, playing time, money, his own brand, and staying close…
