- Hollow Descent — A New Visual Direction - 20 September 2026
Hello everyone!Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for Hollow Descent.Throughout development, I've gradually been discovering what I want the game to look and feel like visually, and I've decided to take an important step: I'm starting a complete overhaul of the game's visual direction. My goal is to give Hollow Descent a much more personal and cohesive visual identity, putting significantly more hands-on work into every visual element of the game. The protagonists, the world, the combat, and other visual elements will progressively adopt this new direction. Portraits and narrative scenes will also move towards a more illustrated and personal style. To start things off, here's Finn, one of the game's protagonists, showing his previous design and his new one:This change will take time. I'm developing Hollow Descent on my own and in my spare time, so this will be a gradual process tak…
- The Wetlands Detour is now complete - 30 August 2026
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on a new location in Hollow Descent: the Wetlands Detour. This map represents one of the paths that crosses this dangerous region of Ganides, and it will be one of the areas players will have to travel through during their adventure. The Wetlands are a much more dangerous place than they might seem at first glance. Along their paths and swamps, players may encounter hostile creatures, hidden locations, and characters who may have their own interests. One of the things I enjoy most about working on these areas is creating paths that aren't simply a way to get from one point to another. Depending on how the party progresses, what they choose to investigate, or who they decide to talk to, different situations may arise along the way. With the Wetlands Detour now complete, I’m continuing to make steady progress on Hollow Descent, working on new maps, e…
- Rozand Castle is now complete - 13 July 2026
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on one of Hollow Descent’s key locations: Rozand Castle. This map brings together several elements I want to define throughout the game: exploration, conversations with different characters, and decisions that can be approached in very different ways.Throughout the adventure, many situations will offer options tied to the party’s proficiencies. Some will reveal new information, others will open alternative paths, and sometimes the consequences won’t become clear until much later. The images in this post show a few examples of these interactions — from investigating a mysterious map to helping characters going through difficult moments.Although the castle is now complete, I’m still working on new areas, events, and conversations to bring the world of Ganides to life.Thank you for joining me on the development of Hollow Descent. I hope to share mor…
- The world is documented as you discover it - 17 May 2026
This week I've been working on the in-game glossary system. One of the things I enjoy the most in RPGs is slowly discovering the world, its characters and the organizations that inhabit it, so I wanted to create a system that evolves alongside the player's journey. As the story progresses, new entries are added to the glossary: characters, locations, factions and chronicles that help expand the world without filling the main narrative with long explanations. Some entries simply provide background information about the world, while others may hide details, connections or events that become more important as the adventure progresses.I'm still expanding and polishing the system, but I wanted to share a small look at how the world of Hollow Descent gradually becomes documented as you play.
- I'm turning a 3-year D&D campaign into an RPG - 3 May 2026
I'm turning a 3-year Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) campaign into an RPG.Over the past few years, I've been running a campaign with my group. We started as 4 people, but over time more players joined. It's been over 50 sessions, each lasting 4–5 hours. Everything is original. And shaped by player decisions. One of the main villains, for example, wasn't planned at all. They became a villain because of something that happened during a session.About a year ago, I decided to try something ambitious: turn that entire campaign into a video game.My goal is to keep what makes tabletop RPGs special:Meaningful choicesReal consequencesCharacters who can live… or die depending on what you doAnd something that's very important to me: every NPC has their own story and reason to exist in the world.I published the Steam page 2 days ago without any promotion, just to see if this idea could resonate beyond our t…
