Short description
Empty Box is a 2D narrative choice game set in a city of humans and beastfolk. As a poor unemployed journalist, you accept an invitation from a hyena to start an investigation. Like Reigns, your binary choices affect four stats. Keep balance to uncover the hidden truth and the real culprit.
About this game
Step into a fantasy metropolis where humans and beastfolk coexist. Beneath its prosperous surface lie hidden secrets and swirling dark undercurrents. Play as a destitute, unemployed journalist at rock bottom. An enigmatic hyena extends a mysterious investigation offer, drawing you into the city’s shadowy underbelly. Embark on a journey of inquiry, wander through urban streets, encounter all kinds of people, and unearth the truth behind bizarre, unsolved incidents. The game features hardcore binary-choice storytelling. Every pivotal decision carries no absolute right or wrong, directly shaping four core attributes. Maintain careful balance at all costs—any attribute collapse will terminate your investigation and trigger a tragic ending. Gather fragmented clues, experience peculiar urban tales, and interact with distinctive characters. As scattered cases intertwine, layers of fog lift to expose a grand conspiracy, with a hidden mastermind controlling the city’s fate. Game Features Original Fantasy World A vivid 2D atmospheric cityscape where humans and beastfolk cohabit, blending daily mortal life with dark underhanded schemes. Binary Choice Gameplay Every choice affects your fate and plot progression, unlocking rich story branches and diverse outcomes. Immersive Suspense Narrative Journalist-led detective experience with fragmented, progressive storytelling, keeping suspense high all the way. Multiple Endings Your decisions write the finale. Uncover the truth and escape, or sink deep into the conspiracy—every path is your own to make.
