In it, he looks at the Jacobite forces of the 1745 Rising: an army often remembered through Highland romance, but one that also drew on modern European organization, command structures, and battlefield practice.The majority of the forces featured in my WDS title War of the Austrian Succession represent the regular armed forces of nation-states. As such, there is no shortage of information on how they were organised, unformed, drilled, and commanded, and how they fought their battles.
