- Patch v6182 - 20 June 2017
Following player feedback, that the allied Space Pioneers are too defensive, we updated their AI and they will now actively participate in the fights and not just defend themselves. Patch Notes: - Updated the allied AI for the FSP soldiers, they now reposition themselves and fight over longer distances - Saving a game now only takes a few seconds - Save game files are now much smaller - Fixed memory crashes during the saving of a game - Save games from play sessions before the patch will remain with the pre-patch save/load version to keep them functional - Upgraded to Unity Engine Version 5.4.5p1, which fixed some graphics card crashes - Fixed a bug that caused a very small default resolution when starting Shock Tactics the first time - When starting a new game, you can now skip the first two tutorial missions, but keep the rest of the tutorials enabled - Fixed collider bugs in several…

- XCOM lookalike Shock Tactics is out now - 12 April 2017
The melodrama, combat and man-handling of XCOM has left a mark on many a game, but Shock Tactics looks to be covered in such marks. You re managing your troops, building a base and fighting the bad ones (mostly human beings this time) on isometric maps plastered with cover. It was released yesterday, so here’s a video filled with, uh, familiar sights. …
- The XCOM-like turn-based combat game Shock Tactics is out next week - 7 April 2017
Indie developer Point Blank Games announced today that Shock Tactics , the turn-based tactical combat game that blends XCOM-style battles with exploration elements and "intricate squad management," will be out on April 11. Shock Tactics puts players at the head of a team of Free Space Pioneers—essentially a gang of mercenaries sent to explore and scavenge a recently-discovered alien world. But they're not the only ones of the scene: The Imperial Consortium, pirates, and even aliens are all after the same lucrative treasures, and not afraid to get their light-fingered hands dirty.  The XCOM heritage is obvious in the gameplay trailer, but it sounds like Point Blank is aiming to set itself apart by using time-sensitive objectives to increase the need to balance risk and reward: "A thrilling race against time unfolds, as players have to quickly secure excavations on the pr…
- Shock Tactics is an XCOM clone with an exploration twist - 10 January 2017

Character movement is based on action points, with an "interrupt system" that will halt movements when new enemies are spotted, "so you can asses the situation and spen…
