  • Nanome 1.22 - The Web Browser Update - 19 July 2021

Our latest software update brings new and improved tools for enhancing your Nanome experience. To see some of these updates in action, check out our product update reel. Introducing: The In-App Web Browser The new in-VR Web Browser can be pulled up during a Nanome session. Users can access the web browser from their wrist menu. Much like the whiteboard, each user in the room can have their own private web browser. However, unlike the whiteboard, please note that only one web browser can be shared with the rest of the room at a time. (Additionally, please note that shared audio playback from the browser is currently not supported, so only the person who plays audio/video from the web browser will be able to hear it in the room.) We’re very excited about this new feature as it unlocks many workflows for our end users. Clipboard & Keyboard Updates With the new web browser, we also support…

Spatial Recordings (BETA) and Advanced Tutorials First introduced in our previous 1.20 update, the spatial recording feature allows you to record the entire virtual Nanome environment, including your movements and manipulations, and then playback the recording at a later time. After some initial feedback from our users, we’ve made performance improvements that help make the experience with this feature more smooth. Please note that this feature is still considered to be in BETA, but we will continually bring improvements over the next few updates. You can use this feature to record tutorials, presentations, lectures, in-VR working sessions, and much more! As an example, check out the Advanced Tutorials menu in Nanome. • Nanome 1.17 - The New Molecule Creation Update - 4 April 2020

We're bringing you some new and updated features to improve your experience in Nanome. To see these updates in action, you can also check out our Product Update Reel on YouTube. New Molecule Creation You can now build structures from the ground up! The MedChem toolkit has been improved and no longer requires you to start from an existing structure, and instead you can start designing with any atom or molecule you want. Try to build your own molecules from scratch, or lead the charge in the discovery of a brand new molecule - either way, you now have total control for designing new small molecules. Calculate ESP Maps This is one of our oldest requests and we’re excited for it to finally debut. Electrostatic potential maps can now be computed natively within Nanome. From the Modify Menu, go to the Compute tab and then click “Calculate ESP” to see the charged regions of a molecule. Export…

From the Modify Menu, click on the Compute tab, and then “Calculate Clashes”. In both the Calculate Clashes settings menu and the MedChem tool, users can enable clashes to run continuously in order to get live feedback when interacting with a structure. You can also change the Overlap Tolerance for clashes. Brand New: Sequence Menu Check out our brand new Sequence Menu, where you can view protein sequences. Additionally, you also have the ability to perform pairwise sequence alignments from this menu. The Sequence Menu also communicates with the selected structure, so you can highlight specific residues directly…

  • Nanome 1.15 - The H-Bond Interaction Update - 6 December 2019

In our last release of the 2010 decade, we’re excited to introduce the all-new and updated H-bond interactions in Nanome. We’ve also added some additional improvements to our UI so we hope you enjoy it! Let us know what you think of the updates! Hydrogen Bonds (H-Bonds) The all-new H-bond feature enables users to quickly calculate precise and relaxed H-bonds between a ligand and a protein structure. Users can also adjust the constraints by angstrom and degree. In the future, we’ll support changing the color of the interactions. Electron Density Maps (EDM) UI Overhaul The EDM UI now features Flat, Smooth, and Wired views. Users can now change the RMSD value and have multiple different colored maps superimposed. There are now two modes to view a map, one is interactive where you can grab and move a map to your desired location and the other mode packs the map to its unit cell which depend…

  • Introducing Nanome’s Official Documentation Site - 21 November 2019

Ever since we launched Nanome in 2018, we’ve had monthly releases with groundbreaking features that push the boundaries of collaborative molecular modeling. Over a dozen updates later, Nanome’s extensive feature sets may be a bit daunting to navigate through. With our new documentation site, you can find documentation on every Nanome feature and menu. Even experienced Nanome users can find this to be a useful resource. What the documentation site is today The ‘Nanome Navigation’ section of the documentation features all the menus available. From the first time you download Nanome, to calculating H-bonds, interacting with Electron Density Maps, and Frame Data, you can find everything that Nanome has to offer in this section. • Nanome 1.14 The Info Menu Update - 23 October 2019

Today, we are launching a new update that includes some features and tweaks to make your experience in Nanome even smoother. Info Menu Overhaul The Info Menu is a fan favorite amongst Nanome users for its range of abilities such as viewing docked results and cycling through ligands in a pocket, duplicating a frame to preserve the original base ligand, or playing back molecular dynamics trajectories. Most of the time, users want to annotate, sort, or rank the different frames to analyze further at a later time or show a colleague. With our latest update, users can easily switch between specific frames and their associated meta-data or edit the order in which the frames are displayed. Invite colleagues to join your room via email (Direct Download versions only) Ever have a cool structure you were viewing in Nanome and wanted to call up a colleague or friend to join you in Nanome? You can…

  • Nanome 1.13 - The Avatar Update - 20 September 2019

Today we’re launching a new update that includes many aesthetic changes! It’s been a while since we’ve launched an update focused on UI and collaboration tweaks and we’re very excited to hear your feedback! Brand New User Name Tags The new user-name tags display two new types of information: Audio Status and Presenter Status. The audio status has four states: user is talking, isn’t talking, you muted the user, or user muted themselves. The gold star indicates who the presenter is in a room. If the user is not a presenter, a mini avatar is shown with their custom avatar color. Custom Avatar Colors Users can now customize the color of their avatars 10 unique colors. By default, Nanome automatically picks one of the 10 colors with an algorithm that assigns a color based on the user name you pick. In case you don’t like that color, no worries! • Nanome 1.11 - The Power of Macros - 11 July 2019

This week we're introducing macros. For those who don't know (and never struggled through hundreds of Excel spreadsheets), macros are custom shortcuts you'll be able to program yourself to speed up your work. Macros https://cdn.steampulse.org/steam/asset?u=https%3A%2F%2Fsteamcdn-a.akamaihd.net%2Fsteamcommunity%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Fclans%2F25608763%2F040334db9991dee0d6c92453b4dc322a3952f2e5.gif To access macros, you'll simply open up the new Macro submenu on your wrist or under the Entry Menu. We've set up some preset Macros already as seen here. These macros help focus the protein structure on the ligand. To learn about how to build your own macros check out our GitHub. Context Menu - Another Upgrade to Quick Select A couple of months ago, we introduced Quick Select on the Wrist Menu, allowing you to load any of the submenus from your wrist. https://cdn.steampulse.org/steam/asset?u=https%3A%2F%2Fsteamcdn-a.akamaihd.net%2Fsteamcommunity%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Fclans%2F25608763%2Fab038e42da91c4837166655c81596%25E2%2580%25A6
