• 10 years of One Night Stand! - 24 March 2026

  Today marks 10 years since One Night Stand was first released into the world! To celebrate, here’s a brand new animation:I cannot believe it’s already been 10 years since I finished the Nanoreno game jam version and uploaded it... After a couple of days, One Night Stand gained a ton of coverage; from traditional press to popular Youtubers, including Pewdiepie, Squeezie, Jacksepticeye and Markiplier! I hadn’t even reached out to anyone (plus the game was full of bugs!) yet it was a time I’ll never forget. Back in 2016, you could actually release an indie game with no PR or marketing budget and it could take off! Things have change a lot since then.My first art tests for One Night Stand.On October 20th 2016, the full version of One Night Stand released on itch.io, shortly followed by Steam on November 7th. • 10 years of game development! 🎉 - 8 January 2025

  Guess what? I've been an independent game developer for 10 years now! 🤯 When I left EA Chillingo at the end of 2014, I was just eager to make my own games… I never for a minute imagined I’d still be here 10 years later with my own little business! 😊 My first released game, One Night Stand, was made during Nanoreno Game Jam, and it exploded in popularity and kinda took over my life! When things settled down, I realised my previous project I was working on would require a larger team to create the vision I had for it. So I started working on the semi-autobiographical ‘Memories’ while continuing to work on One Night Stand localisations, console port and physical edition. However, in 2019, my personal circumstances changed. I became disabled and struggled to work at the same pace I did before. Then 2020 happened, and Memories didn’t feel like the right game to be putting out in the world…

• Update notes for 2.32 - 3 January 2025

  Hello everyone, A new update has gone live today (2.32) which updates the game engine and fixes three ending achievements that had stopped working. If you recently played the game and these achievements didn't unlock for you, please update and load the game. The missing achievements should unlock immediately! :) Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you to those who alerted me to the problem.   Hello everyone, it's been a while! ːons_shewavesː A small new update has just released for One Night Stand. It features: A clearer credits page Translation fixes ...and a whole new look for Kinmoku (that's me!) Please update so you have the latest version of the game! Inspired by the early roots of visual novels – from PC-98 to Sega Saturn – the new splash artwork features Kinmoku in their studio. • One Night Stand 2.282 - 25 March 2021

  Hello everyone. This update fixes achievements. Yesterday, some users reported that achievements had stopped working after the big update. This was caused by the latest engine updates not supporting Steam achievements correctly. This unfortunately means that Mac OSX 10.15+ can no longer be supported. I have contacted the Ren'Py developers directly and hope this issue will soon be resolved so Mac OSX 10.15+ will be fully compatible. Until then, I advise Mac OSX 10.15+ users to download One Night Stand on itch.io, as this version is 64bit. Thank you for your patience.

  Wow! It's been 5 years since the Nanoreno game jam version of One Night Stand released on itch.io! I can't believe it's been that long already! Thank you all for supporting One Night Stand and helping it become such a beloved indie visual novel! To celebrate, One Night Stand will now be playable in Japanese and Italian on PC, Mac and Linux! Download the latest build and select the flags from the main menu to enable. This build will also update Mac builds to 64bit, meaning One Night Stand will now be playable on OSX 10.15+. For Playstation 4 owners, a physical edition of One Night Stand, featuring the new artwork above, is on the way! You can pre-order your copy now over at Red Art Games' website. When you wake up in a stranger’s bed with a stinking hangover and no memory of the night before, just what is the polite thing to do? Get dressed and leave as quickly as possible? Pry into her wallet to try to find out her name so you don’t look like a total jerk? Or perhaps you make a go at some small talk, chatting about the stacks of books and records on her shelves to try to establish a better relationship? Or maybe you get caught trying on her underwear and get turfed out the door in the nip.   Good news for Chinese and German players! The bug which was stopping Chinese players from finishing the ending "In a Twist" has been fixed.
