- Final Moments: Delisting in 30 Minutes - 21 July 2025
In just 30 minutes, Seeking Evil: The Wendigo will be delisted from the Steam store. This little game was always meant to be a compact, eerie ride through the dark, just enough to give you a few spine-chilling scares, some tension, and an ankh + lighter to cling to. We never expected it to go out with this much attention, but wow... it did. To everyone who picked it up, revisited it, or just joined in: \Thank you.\ You've brought so much unexpected energy into these final days, and it's been one hell of a journey seeing this old game come alive again for a moment. \As always: if you own the game, it remains in your library and fully playable.\ Farewell Wendigo and thank you, everyone.
- Wendigo Unavailable in LATAM, MENA, CIS, South Asia - 18 July 2025
Hi everyone, We’ve received messages from players in LATAM, MENA, CIS, and South Asia who have found that the game wasn't available for purchase in their region during our farewell sale. We want to be explain about why this is happened and what we’ve done to make sure you can still access the game before it’s delisted. ❗ What’s Happening? When we set prices in the past, we used Steam’s recommended pricing for each region, this meant that in some areas, the base price was lower. Now that we’ve applied a 80% farewell discount, the sale price in those regions has fallen below Steam’s minimum allowed transaction price (roughly $0.49). When this happens, Steam automatically disables purchases in those regions for the duration of the discount. To clarify: it looks like Steam checks discounts against the main USD-tier threshold, but does not check localized prices individually, which caused th…
- Final Sale & Delisting Info - 14 July 2025
Hi all, We wanted to take some time and reply to the latest comments and share some news regarding the delisting date. Seeking Evil: The Wendigo was always meant to be a compact, focused game with optional VR support and the goal of delivering a few good scares, tense moments, and some classic horror fun. While interest was quiet for a long time (read: non-existent), we’ve seen a surprising wave of attention following the delisting announcement. This comes as a total surprise to us, so whether you revisited it, picked it up for the first time, or just joined the conversation: thank you. It means a lot. Some games are made to offer a specific experience, and when that’s done, it’s okay to let them rest. Ours, for the most part, did what we hoped and after many years, we’ve decided it’s time to say goodbye the right way. The game will be permanently delisted from Steam on July 21 at 12:45…
- Delisting of Seeking Evil: The Wendigo - 13 July 2025
Hi all, We would like to inform you that Seeking Evil will be permanently delisted from the Steam store in the near future. The game was originally released in September 2017. After many years, we have decided to retire the title from sale due to its age and the fact that we cannot guarantee stable performance on newer hardware going forward. This decision does not affect existing owners of the game. If you already own the game, it will remain in your library and playable. We want to thank everyone who bought the game over the years. Thank you for being part of this journey.
- Full release and steam leaderboards - 11 September 2017
https://i.imgur.com/0WF5Fqj.png Fellow evil seekers Today is a big day for us! Seeking Evil - The Wendigo has been officially released on Steam. Just in case you haven't heard much about the game, here's a short summary; It's a fast paced horror title that takes place in the haunted forests of North America. These are home to a bloodthirsty predator known as the Wendigo. It's intelligent, fast and will do everything it can to hunt you down, the only way that you'll get out alive is by burning all totems and breaking the curse. We'd like to take the chance and thank you, our family, friends and everyone for supporting us so far and making this game possible. A horror game was on our list for a while now so we enjoyed the development process and learned a lot from it. We also had a blast while watching the videos that many of you shared and hope that the game will continue to deliver peop…

- [Announcement] Preparing for Release - 8 September 2017
https://i.imgur.com/0WF5Fqj.png We launched into Early Access to make sure that no bugs were overseen and that we could make some additions. With bugs being fixed, Steam achievements and trading cards in place there's still the online leaderboards coming our way! Right now we feel that the game is getting ready for release, but there's still some double checking that has to been done before we transition out of Early Access. If there's anything you guys would like to see improved, make sure to let us know ;) -Copybugpaste Team-

- [UPDATE]Steam trading cards - 8 September 2017
From the team We're glad to announce that we haven't found any major issues so far and that we're taking the necessary steps towards full release in the near future. That said we're really happy to announce that Steam trading cards have made it into the game. How does this work Simply put trading cards are collectible cards that you can earn by playing the game. By collecting the entire set of cards you can earn items that will help you to customize your profile and show off gameplay. Here are some details on how this works: Playing the game: this will earn you half of the set (based on playtime in the game). Trade: the other half of the set can be earned through trading or buying from other players on the Steam Community Market. Craft: once you've got a full set you can craft a badge that can be prominently displayed on the profile and when hovering on your avatar. Get rewarded: during…

- [Update] Achievements! - 31 July 2017
Hi fellow Evil Seekers, We're happy to announce that today we've released a new update that introduces Steam Achievements. We had a ton of ideas on how to approach this and eventually handpicked a total of 12 as our final choice, below you can see a list of what to expect. http://i.imgur.com/mJNF35T.jpg Since we've been gathering additional feedback and working on a major update for our other game called Homebrew - Vehicle Sandbox the update was slightly delayed. We'd like to apologize for this and thank you guys for your patience and support. We've also noticed that the game runs well on most pc's and that there haven't been any major bugs. If you run into an issue, make sure to let us know asap so that we can patch this prior to our full release which we'll be announcing soon. Make sure to keep an eye out for our upcoming updates that will include steam trading cards, leaderboards and…

- Hotfix! - 1 May 2017
We're back again with another update! This update there have been a couple of improvements, including some added colliders to stop people from getting out of the map by accident, and some changes to the trees. We've also changed the default gamma setting for the Oculus rift a bit (as the game was far too bright) Besides these changes, there have been a number of performance tweaks, and Level-of-detail improvements. It should be a bit smoother now If you experience any bugs, or issues, let us know Copybugpaste Team.

- First Update! - 28 April 2017
We're pushing a small update to address some of the problems that some of you have been facing, and make the game a bit easier to play. First of all, we've changed the Screen-Effects a bit, and (more specifically) the Gamma. The game will now be less dark, and more enjoyable to play! We've also fixed a couple of collisions issues, so you can no longer escape the map (Sorry), and it's far easier to get on top of the plank above the pit now. There was also a bug where the torch would appear lit after it has gone out, this has now been fixed, and a couple of other tiny things (like the score-counter sound not stopping on some occasions, requiring a reboot). The totems will light-up more brightly now when you scan, and the range of the scan has been increased slightly, so it should be a bit easier to find your next target now! The flashlight range has also been increased. There's also been…
