- Happy Anniversary, Angels with Scaly Wings! (+ Sequel Development Update) - 6 February 2025
(This blog was initially shared on social media on January 31st, the anniversary of AwSW's release date.) Another year has gone by as today marks Angels with Scaly Wing's 8th birthday. Wow! It's hard to believe it's been this long. When I was initially planning the sequel (around 2017 if I remember correctly), I knew that the game with its increased scope and planned improvements compared to AwSW would take a long time to complete. It was then that I decided to create the webcomic Angels with Broken Hearts to both bridge the gap and give greater context to the setting and characters - which will be very relevant in the sequel. Of course, AwBH then turned out bigger than I initially expected as well, which I suppose is only fitting as it continues to tell new stories about the AwSW characters while I diligently continue working on the sequel. Patch 1.16 is now live and should be downloaded automatically if you are using Steam. This improves the issue about the game not starting when mods are installed. We have found this helps in some cases, although for others the issue still remains. We will continue to investigate.

- Angels with Scaly Wings 1.14 Patch Notes - 28 February 2024
Patch 1.14 is now live and should be downloaded automatically if you are using Steam. This fixes an issue where achievements would not unlock on Steam. Starting the game with this version should automatically unlock all achievements on Steam that you have unlocked in the game. There is a possibility that starting the game will display an error message due to files from the old version not being deleted automatically. If this happens to you, you can follow these steps: 1. Navigate to the game's install directory. 2. Uninstall the game on Steam. 3. Delete any remaining files inside the game's install directory. 4. Re-install the game.

It doesn't seem that long ago that I wrote the last anniversary post. Time can just fly when you're busy. Despite that, I unfortunately wasn't able to keep the anticipated release date of 2023 for the sequel to Angels with Scaly Wings. I again could go into the reasons for why the game is taking so long due to the vastly increased scope compared to the first game, but I've already talked about that at length. Skip the next few paragraphs if you want to go into the sequel with no prior knowledge (which I would recommend). --Potential spoilers starting here-- Perhaps one tidbit I haven't mentioned before is that this time around, the main character will be working with a team of characters instead of mostly being on their own.
