The sequel is live on Kickstarter until January 13th - go check it out and play the 60-minute demo!We plan to make Women of Xal I free for all during the Kickstarter campaign. It seems like publishers can no longer discount games more than 95% off on Steam, so we're currently discussing ways to do this behind the scenes. - Visibility Re-Update: Streamer Mode Introduced + New/Alt Scenes - 13 February 2025
Hey all, Shald here. So here's the deal: Steam allows you to submit your game for additional rounds of advertising and marketing visibility, but only within 30 days of a recent major update. Guess what we didn't know about when we first started developing this game? :D That's right, we didn't know ANY of that! So, yes. This announcement is a duplicate of an older announcement so we can properly categorize Women of Xal's 1.5 update as a "Major Update" and therefore get the game on the front page of Steam for a few weeks. :') Rest assured that we're not going to be re-hashing old content forever; now that we know about the additional visibility rounds, we'll definitely use them properly going forward. - Small Batch of Bugs Chucked Outside to Live... Elsewhere + Same Page Lore Fixes - 4 January 2023
And by same page, I mean the dev build was different from public build where we thought certain significant lore details were in every timeline. It wasn't! Bugs like spelling mistakes, grammar derps, and some inconsequential structuring fixed up. Lastly, Steam's build now has one unified build between PC and Mac, so there should be less steps to get them both working for future updates.
- 1.5 Update! Streamer Mode Introduced + New/Alt Scenes - 24 March 2022
Some of ya'll went deep to find those visual glitches, and we've got you! Visual glitches have been taken out, and a slew of sneaky typos have been nixed. Because of how easy this was, we were able to focus on new features! Streamer Mode! On every run except True Ending, you can skip the first 3 or so hours to get to the more general audience appropriate parts of the plot, with the slow burn being summed up in cheeky little sentences. You should be able to start character routes sooner than later if you go with Streamer Mode. If you decide to choose "Explorer Mode" for the slow burn and learn more about the world and its characters, the game proceeds as normal. New OC for Most of You! - Women of Xal 1.3 Update: Nerfs and Buffs! Yes in a VN - 15 December 2021
Some quality of life updates, as well as some nerfs and buffs! A slew of obscure and not so obscure typos have been taken care of. Some narrative clarifications to reduce vagueness in some instances. You now have to complete the game before you fall asleep in front of someone. Furnell's route is now easier to unlock. Culiver is no longer a magical girl on his route. We celebrate not having to update the game for well over a week. \o/ Sleep resumes.

- Bug Fixes And A Chance To Vote On Your Favorite Character! - 15 November 2021
VOTING TAKES PLACE HERE. LIVE UNTIL NOVEMBER 28th! Ya'll found some truly obscure bugs, but we squashed every last one of them, and the experience is now more polished for it. Just little tiny things like names not being labeled, or misspellings. Additionally, you can now go into the Extras > About portion of the game and vote for your favorite character in this year's People's Choice Awards! Alternatively, you can click the giant link above and it'll take you to the same place! There, you can vote in a wide variety of categories for best, worst, most charismatic, ect!

Players and ourselves caught some interesting errors. We killed the errors. -Velvet's route is actually playable now, like it was supposed to be in 2.5 -Artimis' route was accidentally deleted in 2.5. It's back in now. -New CG added for True Ending. -Slight video editing update -New music for True Ending -Fixed minor dialogue annoyances, sprite displacements, and an eternal loop. -Slightly reduced the size of the game, with more optimization coming in future updates.
