  • Star Wars Battlefront 2 smashes Steam records despite rampant cheating - 23 June 2025

Even though it's been out for nearly eight years, and the PC version is rife with cheaters, Star Wars Battlefront 2 just hit a new all-time Steam peak with over 35,000 players hopping on the shooter at once over the weekend. That's a whopping 2,000% player increase since April's peak of 1,500 Steam players. Read the rest of the story... • Star Wars VR game in the works, as EA's Battlefront 2 gets modded - 29 November 2022

A new Star Wars VR game is on its way, as one intrepid modder is rebuilding EA's FPS Battlefront 2 to integrate full virtual reality, and bring classic George Lucas and Disney locations like Tatooine, Endor, and the Death Star to more vivid realisation than ever before. • Star Wars Battlefront 2 (the original) gets first patch in three years, but it's already reverted - 10 February 2021

February 10, 2021 And it's gone. The classic version of Star Wars Battlefront 2 has had its first patch in three years reverted after it broke aspects of the old PC game . A post on Steam simply reads: "reverting to the previous version". Yeah, we guess there's not much more to say than that, really. Original story follows. Star Wars Battlefront 2 - as in the original, from 2005 - has already gotten a surprising number of updates to keep it viable on modern machines. A surprise hotfix landed today, adding proper controller support and better UI scaling at higher resolutions. A pleasant surprise, right? Well, it seems there are a fair few issues with the update, and the patch is causing more frustration than celebration among players. The official announcement simply says that the hotfix "addresses a number of issues with graphic resolution and controller support in the game". As players…

  • Among Us and Fall Guys collide in this bizarre Star Wars Battlefront 2 mod - 4 December 2020

We've already seen some fairly creepy content based on Fall Guys (I'm still trying to forget the bean anatomy shared by the official Twitter account ), and now there's even more. This time it takes the form of some suspiciously long legs, and some familiar crewmates are joining in on the action, as someone's made a Star Wars Battlefront 2 PC mod combining both Among Us and Fall Guys. Made by TigerVenom22 and ToastedShoes, the mod replaces all original trilogy-era infantry with Fall Guys characters on the light side, and Among Us characters on the dark. Makes sense given a selection of the crewmates are basically eldritch horrors. They're capable of wielding lightsabers or using Force lightning (on the dark side at least), while the Fall Guys beans come with a range of costumes - one of which has Rowan Atkinson's face. I think there might be a joke there somewhere. My personal favourite…

  • Five of the Best: Villains - 22 May 2020

Five of the Best is a weekly series about the small details we rush past when we're playing but which shape a game in our memory for years to come. Details like the way a character jumps or the title screen you load into, or the potions you use and maps you refer back to. We've talked about so many in our Five of the Best series so far. But there are always more. Five of the Best works like this. Various Eurogamer writers will share their memories in the article and then you - probably outraged we didn't include the thing you're thinking of - can share the thing you're thinking of in the comments below. • The best gaming deals for Star Wars Day - 4 May 2020

Hang out here long enough and you've probably noticed that the Eurogamer lot are partial to a good pun under their headlines. I'm assuming, then, there's some appreciation for the play on words that is hosting Star Wars Day on May the 4th. Star Wars and video games share a rich history, so it's no surprise to see various retailers attempt to capitalise on the festivities with their own Star Wars day deals. You can find offers on the old (Knights of the Old Republic, Jedi Knight) and the new (Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Battlefront 2), plus much more in between. I've gathered the best of the bunch below for you to peruse. You can also head to Jelly Deals where we've got a roundup of all the other Star Wars day deals , featuring Lego, box sets, collectables, merch and more. Read more

  • The original Star Wars Battlefront just got official online multiplayer support on Steam - 1 May 2020

UPDATE 8pm: Following the appearance of Star Wars Battlefront's online-multiplayer-revealing patch notes on Steam, word has emerged that the update is also now available in the GOG version (as on Steam, it's currently discounted ). Better yet, cross-play is supported between both platforms, hopefully boosting the chances of finding an online game. ORIGINAL STORY 5.55pm: If you've been looking for an excuse to pick up Star Wars Battlefront up again, you know, 16 years after it was released, now's the perfect time; entirely unexpectedly, developer Pandemic Studios' much-loved space shooter just got its online multiplayer mode restored on Steam. The original Star Wars Battlefront (not to be confused with DICE's 2015 shooter of the same name) released all the way back in 2004 on PS2, Xbox, and PC, giving players the chance to battle their way to victory across a selection of familiar Star W…

  • BB-8 and BB-9E will be playable in Star Wars Battlefront 2 - 4 December 2019

Battlefront 2 gets Rise of Skywalker content later in December - but one addition set for 2020 rises above them all: playable BB-8. BB-8, who hits Battlefront 2 late January 2020, is a hero character for the Resistance, while their evil counterpart BB-9E is a playable villain for the First Order. Before that, on 17th December, First Order players can soar through the skies with the new Jet Trooper character as part of the Rise of Skywalker update - much to Finn's amazement. For the Resistance, there are two new classes: Gunner and Spy, both of which are played by two brand new alien species. Although these species haven't been named yet, one of them could be Babu Frik , a new creature revealed for the movie back in October. Read more

  • Star Wars Battlefront 2 Celebration Edition leaks online - 4 December 2019

UPDATE: EA has confirmed the Celebration Edition of Star Wars Battlefront 2, releasing on 5th December. The Rise of Skywalker content will launch for all players on 17th December. ORIGINAL: Star Wars Battlefront 2 is well over two-years-old at this point, but DICE isn't done updating the shooter just yet. A new leak paints a pretty convincing picture of a Celebration Edition of Battlefront 2 releasing later this week. The leak originates from TrueAchievements.com , and claims the Celebration Edition of Battlefront 2 releases on 5th December. The upgraded edition reportedly features all past and future updates, including heroes Rey and Finn, villain Kylo Ren, and cosmetic appearances for regular foot soldiers. Read more

  • DICE is still adding to Star Wars Battlefront 2 two years after launch - 21 August 2019

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is still getting significant updates two years after its embattled launch - and it'll get another big one in December to tie in with movie The Rise of Skywalker. • Massive EA sale drops Battlefront 2 to 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition to 8 and Titanfall 2 to 5 - 15 August 2019

An EA sale is underway for today only at Amazon UK, where you can get many of the publisher's biggest releases for a pittance on PC. Leading the way is Star Wars: Battlefront 2 for 3.99 . The shooter from a galaxy far, far away hasn't fared particularly well since release, what with loot box shenanigans, microtransaction woes and copious bugs. However, that price could be tempting enough just to try out the single-player campaign. In terms of sheer value for money, the best of the lot has to be the Dragon Age: Inquisition - Game of the Year Edition for 7.99 . Along with the base game, you'll get the Jaws of Hakkon, The Descent and Trespasser DLC packs. Plus, you get an upgrade to the Deluxe Edition, along with both the Spoils of the Avvar and the Spoils of the Qunari items. Inquisition is nowhere near Origins, but it's still a solid BioWare fantasy RPG. Read more

  • Star Wars Battlefront 2 gets Droidekas this month - 8 June 2019

Star Wars Battlefront 2 gets Droidekas this month, DICE has announced. The pesky destroyers arrive in the game on 26th June as part of the Where are those Droidekas? update. For those unfamiliar, Droidekas were first seen taking on Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace. They're pretty powerful droids - so powerful in fact that Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan peg it when they turn up. Read more

  • EA drops 12 Star Wars games into the Origin Access vault and confirms Jedi: Fallen Order gameplay at EA Play - 5 May 2019

EA has added 12 Star Wars games to its PC subscription service, Origin Access, including the original Battlefront II. "Coming to The Vault in a galaxy not so far away: strategic, cinematic, laser-blasting Star Wars games," EA says in its latest Origins Access update (thanks, PC Gamer ), presumably timed to tie in with May the Fourth celebrations. "Our growing collection already includes 20+ Star Wars titles, but now we're adding even more games." Available to both Origin Access Basic and Premier subscribers - but seemingly not EA Access subscribers on Xbox, at least not yet - the new titles coming to the vault are: Read more

  • Classic Star Wars Battlefront now on Steam and GOG, with some multiplayer support - 2 May 2019

If you can't rely on the present to deliver solid Star Wars games, we can at least look to the past - and thanks to Steam and GOG that just got a whole lot easier, as the Star Wars Battlefront game from 2004 has just been made available on both stores. The classic title by Pandemic was previously accessible on PS2, Xbox One (via back compat) and through physical copies for PC (or via other nefarious means online), so its appearance on Steam and GOG makes access a lot easier for Star Wars fans who fancy a nostalgia trip. Which is all Star Wars fans, let's be honest. As the original was published by LucasArts, this would have been a Disney decision rather than EA's. Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005) has been available on both Steam and GOG for some time now, so the addition of the original title means the set is now complete. Read more

  • Star Wars Battlefront 2's new mode goes from ground battles to the inside of a capital ship - 22 March 2019

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is getting a brand-new mode next week, March 26th, mixing ground battles with taught close-quarters combat as teams run the gauntlet through the interior of a capital ship. Known as Capital Supremacy, the new is described as "an immersive, Clone Wars-era authentic experience" that pits two teams of 20, in the role of either the Galactic Republic or the Separatists, against each other, aided by 12 AI-controlled troopers on each side. Playing out in a similar fashion to Battlefield 2142's Titan Mode, Capital Supremacy unfolds over two phases. The first is "non-linear" ground battle (appropriately called the Ground Phase) that sees participants utilising "a wide array of tactics, trooper classes, land vehicles, reinforcement units, and hero characters to attack and defend different areas across the surface". • In Star Wars: Battlefront 2, Anakin Skywalker still doesn't like sand - 23 February 2019

In Star Wars Episode 2, Anakin Skywalker makes it clear to poor Padm that he really doesn't like sand, in one breath crushing the fledgling couple's dreams of sunny holidays on sandy beaches. And so it's only right that Anakin Skywalker's upcoming incarnation in Star Wars: Battlefront 2 also doesn't like sand. I mean, it's hard to change your mind about something like sand, even over the coarse of 17 years. In a post on the Battlefront forums , developer DICE went into detail about the arrival of the Chosen One in Battlefront 2, going over his various abilities and playstyle (as he takes and does damage his fury grows, which sounds about right). • All EA games affected as publisher's server network struggles amid Anthem demo launch - 25 January 2019

Players are struggling to get online in the likes of FIFA, Battlefield 5, and Star Wars: Battlefront 2, as EA continues to experience issues across its entire server network following the launch of Anthem's VIP demo earlier today. EA's server troubles began around 5pm UK time this evening, as BioWare's VIP demo event got underway. In the rush to play, servers quickly became overwhelmed, with players reporting continued difficulties joining a session. Community manager Jesse Anderson was quick to respond , telling players via Twitter that, "Servers are getting SLAMMED", and that the "team is working on it as we speak." Shortly after, EA Help reported that "more server capacity" was being added in a bid to ease network woes. Read more…

  • The Battle of Geonosis in Star Wars Battlefront 2 looks better than in the film! - 22 November 2018

Here's a first proper look at Obi-Wan Kenobi and the planet of Geonosis ahead of their arrival in Star Wars Battlefront 2 next Wednesday, 28th November. Geonosis is the planet where the battle takes place at the end of Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones, the one with loads of Jedi in it. That was really exciting at the time - we hadn't seen Jedi fight in those numbers before. It's also where Count Dooku chops Anakin's hand off (planting a seed of inspiration for later life) and old bogey-face Yoda wades in, jumping and spinning an awful lot. That was also quite exciting - we hadn't seen him fight before. That whole sequence from the film looks ropy now, because of the aging CGI. Actually, compare it to Star Wars Battlefront 2 and the game looks better! Read more…

Price History Overview

USD uses SteamPulse's own locally recorded daily store snapshots, so this overview reflects the exact regional price history that SteamPulse has captured for this currency.

Coverage And Tracking Window

  • Snapshots: 1
  • Coverage: Oct 5, 2026 to Oct 5, 2026
  • Lowest observed: $9.99
  • Highest observed: $9.99

STAR WARS™ Battlefront II (Classic, 2005)'s USD price history spans from Oct 5, 2026 to Oct 5, 2026, with 1 recorded snapshot across 1 calendar day. Each row records the available final price, listed base price, and discount metadata for that observation. Within this coverage the lowest recorded price is $9.99, the highest is $9.99, and the first visible tracked price is $9.99. These comparisons apply only to the snapshots SteamPulse holds; missing observations can contain changes that are not represented here.

For USD, SteamPulse uses locally captured regional storefront snapshots and does not reconstruct older prices with exchange-rate conversion. The chart and table show the values recorded for this exact currency from the stated coverage start. Additional snapshots extend that record, but they do not fill unobserved days or prove what the storefront displayed between observations.

Discount Windows And Sale Timing

  • Discount windows: 0
  • Discounted days: 0 days
  • Deepest markdown: No discount tracked
  • Latest sale window: No sale window tracked

STAR WARS™ Battlefront II (Classic, 2005)'s tracked USD rows do not contain a discount window. This means no available snapshot in the stated coverage has usable discount metadata; it does not prove that the game was never discounted. Missing snapshots or archived rows without complete metadata can hide a sale, so SteamPulse does not infer pricing strategy from this absence.

If a later snapshot includes discount metadata, it will appear here with its recorded depth, price, date, and sale name when available. Until then, this section should be read only as a description of the available rows, not as evidence about the publisher's promotion policy.

Observed Price Changes And Stable Runs

  • Observed price drops: 0
  • Observed price rises: 0
  • Longest stable run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking
  • Current run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking

Outside rows carrying discount metadata, the tracked price has not recorded a separate price rise or drop yet. That means the observed undiscounted level has stayed stable across the snapshots SteamPulse currently holds. This is a statement about the recorded coverage only; it does not prove that an older or missing price change never happened.

The longest unchanged price stretch in the current record lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $9.99, from Oct 5, 2026 through Oct 5, 2026. Among rows without discount metadata, the longest unchanged run lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $9.99. The latest run records $9.99 for 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking as the same recorded undiscounted price. Run lengths describe consecutive stored observations only and do not establish that a price is permanent.

Latest Snapshot And Sales Context

  • Current price: $9.99
  • Current list price: $9.99
  • Distinct observed prices: 1
  • Source mode: SteamPulse local tracking

The latest tracked snapshot records STAR WARS™ Battlefront II (Classic, 2005) at $9.99 in USD, with no active discount metadata. Across the available history SteamPulse has recorded 1 distinct final price in this currency. This supports comparisons with the lowest, highest, and most common values present in the retained record, subject to the stated coverage limits.

The live sales view and Steam sales record provide calendar context for these dates. A date overlap can be compared with a named Steam event, but it does not prove why a publisher changed a price. As new daily rows arrive, this overview recalculates its observed prices, discount windows, and run lengths automatically.
