- Epitasis - Version 1.04 Released and One Year Anniversary Sale - 1 May 2020
Hey everyone! Lucas here with an important update on Epitasis. As you all may know, its been quite a while since the last update to the game - in fact, practically since launch. After the release of the game, I took a small break and then began working on the console port of the game for both Xbox One and Playstation 4. These ports have taken much longer than anticipated as a solo developer, and one thing that ended up needing to happen was a major engine upgrade. The engine upgrade was about 3 years apart, and thus this took a ton of time to get up and running again on both Windows and Mac. We also implemented a lot of infrastructure as a studio to better situate ourselves for more regular updates that are easier to produce for both platforms and future products, which was a major bottleneck previously. I'm happy to say that Epitasis is now running on the latest version of Unreal Engin…

- Epitasis - Version 1.03 - 9 May 2019
Hello everyone! I've pushed a new update to Steam, fixing various issues people are currently having: Version 1.03 Refined the Circle area's large water drone puzzle. MacOS issue where running the game on OS X 10.12 caused an error. MacOS issue with lighting distance fixed. Fixed an area you could get stuck at the campsite level near fences. Fixed an issue in the ending where it was possible to get stuck under the middle platforms while moving up. These changes are now live. Please let me know if you run into any additional issues. Planning on another update for this weekend that continues to fix some issues, namely redesign for a Grasslands puzzle (Triangle area), night time darkness, and keybindings. Thank you for your continued patience! Cheers, Lucas
- Epitasis - Version 1.02 - 4 May 2019
Hello everyone! I've pushed a new update to Steam, fixing some top issues people are currently having: Version 1.02 Ending Changes - I have completely remodified the ending to remove the anti-gravity mechanic. It is now more in line with the rest of the game. I hope you like it, and let me know if you have any more issues with it in our discussion forums.. You can now return to the main hub of the game after going to the ending level. Introduction translations fixed. Warning added to new game button if a save already exists. Default brightness increased when starting the game for the first time (increases brightness slider default value in graphics settings). Cubes can no longer get stuck in your face sometimes. Added an AZERTY keyboard option - I'm working on a keybinding feature for a future update, so this is a band-aid for now. Located in Options -> Player. Added extra cubes in the…

So no one told you life was gonna be this way; your job’s a joke, you’re broke, a portal sucked you away. That’s just another Wednesday for me, though for you warping to an alien world to explore the ruins of a long-dead civilisation and solve puzzles might be more novel. If so, you might fancy a look at Epitasis , released today. (more…)

Hey everyone! https://cdn.steampulse.org/steam/asset?u=https%3A%2F%2Fsteamcdn-a.akamaihd.net%2Fsteamcommunity%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Fclans%2F29993236%2Fb4afb8789d3ff4ac77c6d85c708c825031a51ab8.jpg I have some good news. Epitasis is now playable from start to finish - meaning, you can press the new game button, and play it all the way to the end credits! This is a big milestone for us, and the game is getting very close to completion. I wanted to take a moment to talk about what lies ahead since we have reached this milestone. In the last update, I outlined some of the plans for 2019. These are still mostly the same, but we are planning on pushing the release date back to April rather than March. Once we finalize a release date, we will be sure to let everyone know. This announcement will probably occur around a month before the launch date - we're currently in the midst of even working on a brand new trailer for this announcement! Updated 2019 sch…

Lucas here with another update for Epitasis. It's been a bit of time since the last update, and for good reason. Epitasis is beginning to wrap up development and we've been hard at work doing so. The last few months have been particularly intense as we try to get everything together, but the good news is that everything really is finally falling into place and feeling great. We still have a few months of work left until launch, but we're almost there! The last half of the year, we... ...demoed the game at Xbox's Pre-PAX West event in August! It was so cool finally being able to demo the game at Microsoft's Headquarters, along with seeing all the cool games at PAX West! ...showed the game close to home in DC in September, at the District Arcade. If you're…

Lucas here with an Epitasis development update. We've been hard at work on continuing to build Epitasis, and it finally feels like the game is coming together. We're very close to a fully playable build - I am hoping that we should have one at the end of November or mid-December! That will give us the remaining time to do QA, localization, and continued polish of the game (and anything else). We seem to still be on track for a Q1 2019 release. Last time we talked, we were preparing for Microsoft's Pre-PAX event - it ended up going very well! Overall people seemed to like the demo we brought quite a lot, and it gave us some good feedback to polish some of our gameplay systems. It also gave us a lot of good experience about working on the Xbox build of the game.…

For now, please check out some of the new screenshots if you have not already, and be sure to add the game to your wishlist if you have not already! THANK YOU EVERYONE! Epitasis has been fully funded at 117%! We couldn't have done it without you... and we are so excited for the things to come. We we're even able to get an extra bit of funding, and it will be used to help continue polishing the game overall. We'll be continuing to update backers on new things, such as tshirt designs and print designs. We will be doing surveys soon to get an idea of what the community would like to see for these, and we want to take the time to make these great. If you weren't able to back the game in time, you can still help support us by sharing the game on social media and adding it to your wishlist on steam. A quick update on the mac build for the alpha demo: we're still working on it, and it will still be released. We believe in that people should be able to try a demo of the game, and we still want users on the mac side to still be able to test…

- Epitasis offers a lovely dreamy alien puzzler demo - 2 August 2017
Today I’ve been trying to find and push some games with demos because demos are a dying art (or at least a shrinking art because of Steam refunds and the like) so let’s look at Epitasis ! Epitasis has a demo to support a Kickstarter campaign which is running until 20 August. The game itself looks to be a non-linear dreamy puzzler with influences like Myst and Talos Principle. In his email the developer, Lucas Govatos, mentioned that people sometimes compare it to No Man’s Sky and I think that would be because of the setting – all big moons on horizons and red grass and strange structures. That said it actually reminds me far more of the monthly-ish walking simulator projects of Connor Sherlock because of the colour palettes combined with the alien landscapes. (more…)
- DEMO BUILD OUT NOW! - 1 August 2017
Hey everyone, We went ahead and released the event demo build EARLY! To everyone! Yay! You can now download it and get a feel for what Epitasis is really like - it contains just a small section of what we've been working on, and I really hope you enjoy it. I'm a firm believer to release thing's when its ready - I've been making subtle changes for the past week or so, but the build is ready enough for people to test out, break, and enjoy. Download it here. (note: Mac build coming later this week) Please feel free to stream it, upload videos, or anything else you see fit - we want to get the game and demo in front of as many people as possible! Some notes on the demo build so far (we'll continue updating it as issues and suggestions come in...) You may want to fiddle with your graphic settings before hitting new game. This is an alpha representation of the game - we'll be making changes a…
