- 25 Community Designed Levels Released! - 1 March 2021
I'm thrilled to announce Set 3 is here! 25 new levels are playable -- all made by the community in the recent level designing event. You will also notice the Brickochet font now includes lowercase characters, and three new achievements have been added for this Set. It has been quite a while since Brickochet had a major update of this kind, so I'm hoping I have implemented everything properly. But if you have any problems, let me know in the Technical Issues & Bugs thread on the discussion board and I'll address it as soon as possible! Thanks once again to everyone who participated in the level designing event to make this possible! I hope you enjoy the new levels!
- Brickochet's Set 3 Level Reveal (Spoilers Ahead!) - 22 February 2021
At last it's time to reveal the levels that will be in Set 3! I contacted all of the level designers yesterday to let them know which of their levels got in. And as a reminder to them that if there are any adjustments they would like made, simply email me and I'll make the adjustments as soon as I can. A total of 16 people submitted 70 levels, and I'm happy to say all of them got at least one of their levels included in Set 3! Should an event like this occur again, the levels that did not get into Set 3 will still be eligible for future sets (unless otherwise specified). If you want the levels to be a surprise when Brickochet is updated on March 1, don't scroll down! - Brickochet's Set 3 Release Plans - 6 February 2021
Brickochet's level designing event is now over. Thanks to all who have participated in Brickochet's first ever community event! Your Steam Brickochet key will be sent to you via email within the next hour. In the next couple of weeks, 25 levels will be selected and integrated into Brickochet. You won't have to wait long to play them, as Set 3 is planned to release Monday, March 1! The levels that have been selected will be announced publicly one week beforehand, on February 22, and will be shown as they appear in-game. (Of course, some of you may not want to see all the levels before you play them, so make sure not to scroll down in that announcement! But I'll be sure to remind you again of this when the levels are posted.) I will also message the creators via email to let them know which of their levels were entered into Set 3. Creators of the levels can email me if they would like any…
- One Week Left to Make Levels! - 30 January 2021
Just a reminder that Brickochet's level designing event will be ending Saturday, February 6 at 1:00pm EST. A small number of individuals have submitted levels so far, so there are good odds that these levels could end up in Set 3! But that also means there is plenty of opportunity for those who haven't submitted yet! And remember, anyone who submits a level will receive a Steam Brickochet key, plus you don't need to own Brickochet to participate. So make sure not miss out on this special event! Have a good Februrary, everyone!
- Brickochet Community Event - Design Your Own Level! - 23 January 2021
Greetings everyone! I'm happy to announce a special community event that will add an additional 25 new levels to Brickochet! Brickochet was comprised of 50 levels when it first released. Then later, Set 2 was made, which added an additional 25 levels. Now Set 3 will be in the works, which is planned to add another 25 levels. But this time the levels will be made by you! Starting now until February 6, you can design your own level which could end up in Set 3 of Brickochet! The template below will provide you with what you need. https://i.imgur.com/iz9whJl.png All participants who submitted a level, regardless of whether or not their level ends up in Set 3, will receive one FREE Brickochet Steam key! The keys will be distributed on February 6, when the submission period ends. Want to submit more than one level? By all means go ahead! Depending on how many submissions there are, more than…
- Brickochet Community Event Coming Soon - 16 January 2021
Greetings all! Be prepared for Brickochet's first ever community event beginning next Saturday, January 23. What could the event involve? You'll have to wait and see! Full details will be explained then!
- Version 1.2.2 - 29 December 2018

Just a couple of minor adjustments: Flame Ball particle effect is now more spread out, rather than being emmitted directly from its center. Paddle tracking of the mouse's position has been slightly tweaked. This probably won't be noticable at all for most players, but it may help the responsiveness of some monitors that have a refresh rate different from the game's framerate.
- Music Tracks - Version 1.2.1 - 1 March 2018
Hey there brick breakers! Got a nice little update for you - two new music tracks! Compared to some of the more high-energy tracks, these two are on the calmer, steady-paced side. Hope you like them, and have a good day, everyone!

- The Brickochet Series - 14 December 2017
Hey there brick breakers! I wanted to let you know about the future plans of Brickochet. First off, I'd like thank everyone for their support and feedback. It means a lot to see such positive critiques, comments, and anticipation for potential content. Releasing new features and content requires time, energy, and to a lesser but significant extent, money. Creating new content is something I passionately enjoy doing, but it would not be financially conceivable to do so indefinitely. With extensive consideration on ways to deal with this factor, I have decided to plan new Brickochet titles! I am therefore proud to announce the Brickochet series. The new title (probably called Brickochet 2) is still a very long way off, but will boast 100 levels, new power-ups, music, and level backgrounds, among other things. Additionally, I have heard what many of you have said -- you want a level editor…
- 25 New Levels! - Version 1.2.0 - 27 November 2017
Hi everyone! Got a major update for you all -- 25 brand new levels! Now you can select between two 'Sets' of levels. Set 1 contains the original 50, and Set 2 has the new 25. Each Set has their own highscore table and level select screen. Three more achievements for the new levels have been added as well! Switch between Set 1 and 2 with the button on the highscore table. You can also switch Sets in the level select screen. Happy brick breaking, everybody! EDIT (1/2/18): Separate buttons have been made for switching between Set 1 and 2, instead of toggling with one button. They are now above the difficulty mode buttons.

- Version 1.1.1 - 22 September 2017
Hi everybody! Got a quick fix: Screenshots now work when pressing F12. My apologies for not noticing this sooner. I assumed the screenshot system was automatic, but I guess I had to add a bit of code. Have a good day everyone!

- Difficulty Modes! Version 1.1.0 - 20 September 2017
Hey there brick breakers! Got the first major update for you today -- difficulty modes! Here's what they entail: EASY - Ball accelerates half as fast. - Uncommon power-ups spawn more often. NORMAL - Standard game difficulty. HARD - Ball's inital speed is faster. - Ball accelerates twice as fast. - Uncommon power-ups spawn less often (extra life still spawns as often as NORMAL). There are no penalties to playing the game on any difficulty level. In other words, you can still receive all the achievements on EASY. But if you're interested in getting the highest score possible, HARD is the way to go, since more points are earned the faster the ball goes.

- Version 1.0.05 - 13 September 2017
Hi all! Got a quick fix here: Balls that increase in size when they are very close to a wall could get stuck in them. Now you may be wondering what V1.0.04 entailed, since I hadn't posted about it. It was a patch to a bug that I already thought was fixed (from V1.0.03). So, in the future, if you end up seeing any updates that I don't post about, it's probably to fix a bug that I already thought was fixed. It happens to the best of us, sometimes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

- Version 1.0.03 and Future Plans - 8 September 2017
Hi again! Got a small bug fix for you all, as well as some info about the first major update to Brickochet! On rare occasions, power-ups/downs spawned near walls would get partially stuck in them, jittering against the wall as they fell. It's a difficult bug to reproduce, but with all the testing, I don't think it'll happen anymore. Decreased volume of shooter paddle bullet sound effect a little more. As for future plans, difficulty modes are likely to be the first major update. Expect it in the next coming weeks! EDIT (9/12/17): The bug in which power-ups could get stuck in walls wasn't entirely fixed. Version 1.0.04 has been made today to fix this... hopefully. :)
