It turns out there was a bug still in the game where the Free DLC area would appear on the World Map early, while the player was in the Airship. I fixed this on console and other platforms, but it turns out I never pushed this particular change to Steam. In short, I'm a dummy XD Thank you to everyone who brought this issue to my attention, and I sincerely apologise for missing this!

- Fixed a bug where, if you viewed the Battle Status tutorial from the Tutorials menu with a controller plugged in, the tutorial window would get stuck - displaying over the game screen, and leaving the player unable to see correctly.

- Fixed a typo on an NPC in the Town of Repose. - Fixed a bug with the DLC Eraser battle where the game would softlock after its ally exploded. - Put in a precaution for a potential bug where the game could crash if you entered a particular DLC boss battle with a K.Oed party member.

- Fixed a bug where the Sandman would repeat dialogue every time he attacked in the battle with Mage. - Fixed a bug where the Eraser would stop taking actions after its ally was defeated in the Free DLC. The issue was based on random numbers, so sometimes the fight worked as intended, and other times (often) it did not. - Fixed a typo on the word "authority" in the cutscene at the top of the Fortress in the Free DLC. - Fixed a bug where entering the room in the north of the Lava Cavern after activating the switch would reset the state of the room. And if the switch was pressed again, the player would be stuck being invisible (unless they used the Escape Amulet to fix their opacity). - Put in a fail-safe to prevent the game from triggering a game over after the Sandman battle with Mage. - Fixed a bug preventing the Second Chance Augment from functioning as intended. Fixed an issue where, after a cutscene in the Ancient Fortress, the player could get stuck facing downwards and become unable to proceed with the game. If this has happened to you and you're stuck on a save file, please just go and talk to the little girl at the entrance of Anbu City and she will fix your character. Fixed an issue in the Maze of Memory where the game can stuck in a perpetual cycle of Game Overs if the first character in your party is K.Oed during a certain cutscene. Optimised the loading of assets on two maps. Fixed a minor visual bug where the title card for the Abandoned Prison could get stuck. Fixed a bug where the game could softlock during a battle in the Arena during a fight with the Clockwork Controller (for real this time!).

Hi everyone! I hope you're doing well. I've been very hard at work behind-the-scenes on some really cool stuff, so I apologise for the radio silence right now. But I wanted to share the latest 8-Bit Adventures 2 update, which fixes a lot of lingering bugs. Most of all, it streamlines, speeds up, or improves dozens of cutscenes in the game 😊 After replaying the game for console testing, I noted down places that were too slow (especially the places where you weren't able to speed up dialogue) or didn't land as intended. Individually they are fairly minor changes, but there's a LOT of them, so they definitely have a cumulative effect on the game flow. I've also tried to improve the Golden Sapling side-quest, improved performance on some overcrowded maps, and I've made the screen flashes to transition into battle less bright (since they can be pretty blinding on an LED screen).
