Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is the first main, single-player entry in the series in nearly a decade, and the first title in that lineage to make it to PC. Square Enix has delisted Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age from various digital storefronts to coincide with the launch of the new S version. A notice on the Steam page for Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Digital Edition of Light reveals the game was unlisted on Valve's platform "at the request of the publisher" - and will not appear in search. In light of the release of Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition , developer Square Enix has switched many marketplaces to the latest version of the RPG game . Unfortunately, this means something of a downgrade for PC players who bought the anime game on Steam. Dragon Quest 11 S came out this week on Steam, as well as PS4 and Xbox One. Based on the port for the Nintendo Switch that arrived late 2019, this version of the open-world game is dubbed the definitive edition, containing new character scenarios, the option to speed up battle sequences, and a side-quest area composed of Dragon Quest lands of old. It’s been two years since Dragon Quest XI: Echoes Of An Elusive Age first came to PC, and today its shiny new Definitive Edition arrives. This version of the game allows you to turn on a “retro” mode to play the 3D JRPG as a 16-bit 2D game instead. December 11, 2020 Microsoft has announced a slew of further Game Pass PC titles, including Among Us. Doom Eternal is now on Xbox Game Pass for PC , but it's not the only game coming to the home computer version of Microsoft's subscription service this month. Game Pass is loaded with excellent offerings in December, from day one launches for gorgeous-looking indie titles to massive additions from major publishers. In addition to the titles announced a few weeks ago, Microsoft lifted the veil on a bunch of new additions at The Game Awards. Though a host of further Yakuza games is coming to Game Pass for PC , we sadly won't be playing those until next year. Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition hit Nintendo Switch last year, offering a revamped take on DQ11 loaded with new content. Now that port is making its way to PC, and so is the massive demo that Nintendo launched ahead of the Switch version. That demo is now live on Steam, so if you want about 10 hours of high-quality RPG adventuring, you've got it. The Definitive Edition demo is now live on Steam , and you can head there to download it ahead of the game's December 4 release. It lets you play through the game's opening chapters for what the devs say is "up to 10 hours of content". We've basically known that for some time, but the devs have made it official in the Dragon Quest 35th Anniversary livestream. Some might tell you that the latest Dragon Quest XI patch sounds great, lifting the cap on framerate and adding more key binding options to the game our Noa called “a beauty of a JRPG”. These people are incorrect. The patch has introduced a grave injustice by allowing people to leave their horses behind. Just think of the sort of monster that would leave a digital horse alone in a land of slimes. The game previously punished such monsters by sometimes making the game crash but now Squeenix say that was a “bug” and they have “fixed” it? So people can abandon their horse without consequence?
