As a young queer woman, often I have to ask myself what media I want to consume in my video games. Sometimes it s simply picking the next best thing that includes LGBT+ representation, even if that representation is actually pretty damn awful. There are limits when it comes to certain genres, as well as the type of game, be it indie or giant global studio. LGBT+ representation is much harder to come across in FPS shooters, or even in action-adventure games. Luckily, there s an increasingly popular kind of game that s giving me more options. LGBT+ visual novels, along with LGBT+ developers who put in a huge amount of work to deliver unique, respectful and interesting stories, are challenging my old mindset completely. To celebrate the one year anniversary of Your Royal Gayness, we've released a big update that includes over 30 new events and lots of bug fixes! To celebrate the anniversary, Your Royal Gayness is -50% off. The update is free for people who already own the game. Version 2.0 -Added many new events: Including slumber parties! -Kingdom relationships now decay over time. Hear ye, hear ye! Another big patch has just been released for Your Royal Gayness. The most important things the patch fixes are the Altruist and Tyrant routes - there was a bug that prevented the player from seeing altruist specific events until very late game, but it's fixed now! We also fixed a bug that prevented the player from seeing any "late-game" dating events, and added a separate structure to date events so that they happen in addition to, not instead of, other events. We also did a bunch of balance and bug fixes. Gaining Loyalty should be easier now, among other things! Hear ye, hear ye! A HUGE patch has been released! The patch fixes a lot of bugs and improves usability greatly. Over 30 new events have also been added, and it's now possible to go to war with the other kingdoms if your relationship with them drops too low. - A small patch to fix the worst bugs - 26 January 2018
Most Royal Greetings! We decided that we needed to tackle some of the game-crashing bugs ASAP so we did a quick patch that (hopefully) fixes some of the worst crashes. -altruist events should no longer crash the game; the game was caught in a "loop" and thought that the events were ongoing even though they had already ended. -Day 18 should no longer crash the game (though if it does, please tell us!) -Added a missing part of the altruist (aka "good guy") ending. Nobody probably even noticed anything was wrong, but it's much more meaningful now! -Suspicion meter should no longer drop below 0 causing a graphic bug where the top of the meter falls below the meter's bounds. We added a fix that should ensure that even if you load a save that was started on a different version, the game should still run just fine. Hopefully the fix doesn't cause new bugs. Let us know if you encounter crashes…
