  The Steam Awards are here! Bear in mind that you can only nominate Dakar 18 for one category. "Best Environment" is probably where Dakar 18 has the best chances of standing out. We did create an unprecedented big map with immense detail and we'll be adding more to the mix. "Most fun with a Machine" is also a good match, if you had fun riding across the rugged terrains of Peru, Bolivia and Argentina! And, of course, "Game of the Year", if you truly consider us to be worthy of that honor. This has been a wild ride and we keep on improving the game. We'd like to take the opportunity to show you what we've also been working on. More content to the game, a Rally within a Rally... the Desafío Ruta 40 is coming to Dakar 18 soon! Enjoy!

• Dakar 18 Road Book Viewer - 31 October 2018

  This Application is an add-on to the Dakar 18 Game that allows the users the consult and view the road books used in the game. Particularly useful for players that want to act as navigators while other players drive with the HUD turned off. It is also intended to be a way for players to carry all the Dakar 18 Road Books everywhere (as a pocket edition), to study and prepare for their gaming marathon.   This patch mainly focus on generic device handling and introduces a new Device Manager and a new Device Wizard to help players configure their steering wheel / pedals / gear shifter / handbrake in a generic, simple and in-game way. We feel this new functionality is ready, although, should you encounter any issues, please report back and we will promptly do our best to fix it as this is still an evolving feature and we intend to make it the best possible with your support.   We are releasing the fifth update allowing now the users to manually configure your own devices, such as Steering Wheels, shifters, etc; we also included generic improvements and bug fixes.   We are releasing the fourth update with our fixes and content update. This includes the first content update with significant improvements to device handling and customization (steering wheels and pedals for now) along with much more, check the list bellow. Please check and update: - Fixed: Crash for client in MP when another player would leave his vehicle - Fixed: AI driver would continue to drive even when hooked to another vehicle - Fixed: Game could enter an endless loop of Last Waypoint > Disqualification in case a save game would happen when vehicle was in a collision course - Fixed: If forcing game to shutdown before loading profile data would reset profile to default Note: We are working on a hotfix for multiple peripheral support (Steering wheel + Gearbox + Handbrake).
