• Šemík Plushie Petition - 25 November 2025

  Friends and Supporters of Šemík, Spytihněv and Makeship announce that the petition stand for the mass production of Plush Šemík has been ceremonially launched. According to Directive No. 11/ŠEM/2025, it is mandatory to assist in fulfilling the quota of 200 signatures. Those who do not sign may come to regret it, for there is a risk that no Šemík plush will be produced (and such a risk can be borne by only a few with a truly clear conscience). • Whipped Monday - 20 April 2025

  Every Easter Monday (one day after Easter), the sickle is replaced by a pomlázka - a braided willow whip used in a tradition where men whip women to ensure their health and beauty, in exchange for a painted egg or a shot of booze. It’s weirdly charming... and slightly terrifying. No update needed for this - I secretly slipped this feature in during the Christmas carp update back in December.   The recent barking fix reminded me how fun updating HROT is, so I got on a roll. Ver. 1.3: fixed doubled sound when picking up a pistol player's voice de-noised (never record voices into the game while the dishwasher is running in the room) Pterodactyl drops amphorae instead of gifts fixed oversized gib in Supreme Commander-in-chief's stomach some new maps in Bombermod GoBack button in the Menu (upper left corner) another river in my country has been poisoned -> the body proportions of the Bečva fish have changed Infested Rider has a 50% chance to drop a Bubblebum. Bubblebum adds 5 hp 1 second after picking it up (it will make a bubble first). Just like that. I haven’t mentioned for a long time (new players might not know), that the console command silvestr will launch fireworks (do not indoors). This feature is especially useful at the end of the year. • Boomer shooter dev discovers his dogs have been barking on an "unbearable" loop for years - 16 December 2024

  Sometimes dogs are hard to shut up. Over a year and half after releasing Hrot from early access, the developer of the Quake -inspired shooter has fixed the dogs after discovering that a few of the canines have been, for some players, barking in a hideous and endless loop. Read more

• 1.2 Barking fix - 14 December 2024

  A lot of people have complained about some barking, there are some negative reviews about it, but I've always thought that it's just some people who don't like the dog barking while gunfire. Today I found out that on some PC configurations there was a looping unbearable barking. It's a shame that such a bug survived there for almost 2 years, levels with the ratters must have been awful, even downright unplayable, brrr.

• Bombermod - 3 July 2023

  Yesterday I tried to do just an experimental HROT modification, which is played like bomberman for up to 6 players local PvP. It is available in the section Dank stuff -> Mods. Controls: Player 1 - Keyboard (WSAD + F) Player 2 - Keyboard (Arrows + RCtrl) Players 3-7 - Controller No other changes have been made, so the version number is still 1.1

• HROT review: serviceable Soviet shooter saved by scintillating level design - 19 May 2023

  "Does that pommel horse have a grenade launcher?" is one of many bizarre questions I found myself asking while playing HROT . This Slavic shooter revels in the strange, straddling the line between hyper-bleak Soviet satire and goofy memetic joke factory. This isn't the best thing about HROT, we'll get to that in a couple of paragraphs. But the balancing of these two personality strands is what defines HROT's quality. At the outset, they exist in perfect symbiosis, but the relationship becomes less stable as the game goes on.
