- Sep. 29, 2023 Quickfix - 29 September 2023
This incredibly small update patches The Depth's Edge area to include two respawning ammo pickups. This makes it impossible to run out of ammo and be left defenseless against the air duct Epitaphs.
- About Difficulty in Limerick: Cadence Mansion - 3 July 2023
Difficulty in games varies wildly from player to player. Games that seem too easy to some will be challenging for others, and vice versa. Limerick: Cadence Mansion is no exception to this. Balancing difficulty is something I am continuing to work on. Here's a brief breakdown of where I'm at with difficulty in Limerick and what my philosophy has been and will be moving forward. SCALABILITY If you've missed it, I've added quite a few scalability options for difficulty in Limerick. Unlike most games, these options do not affect combat/weapons/etc. Instead, they focus on scaling what people are finding truly difficult in Limerick: puzzles and encounters with the marionette himself. This will continue to be my focus moving forward. I am staying true to my design philosophy as I craft new areas and experiences. But after this I return and explore avenues on how I can help players bypass some…
- About the Game Menu - 28 June 2023
Thankfully, most players seem to be able to navigate the options menu for Limerick: Cadence Mansion without too much of a problem. However, I know some of you have found it bulky and frustrating. I wanted to "pull back the curtain" and give you an honest post about why it works the way it does and what I might be able to do in the future. ORIGINAL DEVELOPMENT I developed the menu a while back. At that time, I had great difficulty getting UE's built-in menu tools to work with both mouse/keys & gamepad. I want you to be able to play the WHOLE game with either input. To me, there is nothing more frustrating than being told I can use a gamepad just to have to set it down 3 seconds later to navigate a menu. Eventually, I built my own solution for the menu. But I did not build extra options like sliders, radio buttons, etc. This is why the menu can be so bulky at times. On the positive side,…

- Steam Next, New Demo, and Feedback Response - 18 June 2023
Hello everyone! Let me start by saying - again - THANK YOU ALL. I have received so much support and encouragement with the development of Limerick: Cadence Mansion, and I am extremely excited to share this new demo with the world. I want to provide a few key pieces of information as Steam Next kicks off. ABOUT THE DEVELOPER I want to be upfront with everyone that I am a solo dev, as in I quite literally do basically everything by myself. The only exception to this is the lovely voice acting provided by Andy Mack and the use of a few (emphasis on few) asset packs. I don't want this to be an excuse, but I would ask that you understand I do not have a team, I do not have a massive budget, and I do not have a big publisher behind me (Jenito Studios, LLC is just me, too). While this allows me to be more personal than a large developer, it also means that there are some things I cannot realis…
- Improved Demo Coming in June - 8 May 2023
First of all, let me express my continued appreciation for the amazing support I've received from the Limerick community. You all are amazing, and it's been a joy to make a game that has received so much understanding and love from the community. The current demo is significantly out of date. As my pool of time becomes increasingly limited, I've had to make choices about where to best spend my hours and efforts. Instead of trying to update the current demo, I've decided to wait until the launch of the new (vastly improved and expanded) demo in June. Here's a quick list of what you can expect new: Vastly improved ambience A significant peek into the story campaign New weapons and combat mechanics A greatly improved encounter with Limerick that gives you multiple new options for dealing with survival Panic Closets now recharge essential stats, including life Brand new OST Vastly improved…

- Demo 0.4.4.7 Released! - 2 February 2023
ABOUT THE DEMO I'm very excited to announce that the first playable demo of Limerick: Cadence Mansion releases today! Here's a breakdown of what you need to know: This demo does not include any of the story The complete game will have several "sandbox modes" where you can jump straight into an encounter with Limerick - this demo is one such mode This is the first public release and therefore prone to have some bugs Limerick is a systems-driven horror experience, so you should be prepared to die a lot at first as you learn the different techniques for surviving and triumphing Limerick really wants to say hello, so get downloading! KNOWN GRAPHICS ISSUE On certain graphics card, the pictured artifacts can occur after making changes to the graphics settings. These anomalies are directly related to real-time global illumination.
