- Supposed BioShock 4 screenshot confirms that yes, it is a video game - 15 July 2024
You're not gonna believe this. An apparent screenshot from the Bioshock game that's currently in the works has leaked online, and, assuming it's genuine, it tells us one thing we've all been hoping to learn about the title. That it's a video game. Yep, take a look at the image, which MP1ST claims has been unearthed from the showreel of a visual effects artist working for publisher 2K, and you can see clear as day, Bioshock 4, reportedly codenamed 'Parkside' , is probably in line to be one of those doodads we all like to play with a controller, or mouse and keyboard, or a dance pad. In it, the player's holding a gun, dubbed the "Ricochet Shotgun", and is looking straight at some kind of glowing orb mounted on a stand. Maybe they're contemplating it for some reason, or maybe the player just happened to be pointed at a regular light when the screenshot was taken and everyone's about to get…
- Bioshock creator's new game Judas reportedly feels a lot like, er, Bioshock - 27 March 2024
Following the fresh trailer for it that aired during late January’s State of Play showcase , we’ve now gotten some more info on Judas , the upcoming sci-fi action title from Ghost Story Games, the studio co-founded by BioShock creator Ken Levine. If you’ve been eagerly awaiting any news on the game since it was revealed back in late 2022 , you’ll be glad to hear that there are some gameplay impressions this time around. The verdict? Well, it sounds pretty interesting, and also plenty like, well, BioShock. Ghost Story Games invited both IGN and Geoff Keighley to sample 5 to 6 hours of it, and they’ve now shared what they thought of what they saw during that time. The former says that Judas is “a first-person narrative-driven shooter that, from a moment-to-moment gameplay perspective, will feel familiar to BioShock fans.” Read more

Our last patch to BioShock Infinite on Steam was intended only for Windows but unexpectedly affected shared dependencies with the Linux version that made the game unplayable on some versions of Linux. We apologize for the inconvenience to our fans on Linux and appreciate their patience as we worked on a fix.
- BioShock 4 gets a narrative designer who's written for Ghost of Tsushima, Watch Dogs: Legion - 11 December 2022
The next, currently untitled BioShock game has added a writer on Ghost of Tsushima as its narrative designer. "The dream is real!" wrote Liz Albl earlier this week. "So happy to announce I've joined Cloud Chamber as Narrative Lead on BioShock." Albl already has a number of writing credits under her belt, having written on games like Ghost of Tsushima, Far Cry 5, Watch Dogs: Legion, and more. It's been a while since we've heard anything about this fourth entry in the BioShock series, most of which has just been a lot of he-said, she-said rather than anything actually concrete. Back in 2020 some job listings gave us a bit of insight into what the game might be like, with a particular call for developers that have experience working on RPGs. Read more

- BioShock Infinite's dancing bread boy is the start of some good game dev tales - 8 February 2022
A boy dancing around the streets of Paris waving a baguette over his head in BioShock Infinite holds a surprising amount of secrets and stories. Over the weekend, the former Irrational developer who placed the meme-ified Baguette Boy in Binfinite's Burial At Sea expansion explained why he's there. It's an interesting story about how weird game development it is, how weird games themselves are as technical objects, and about creativity within technical constraints. Read more
- The 35 best ultrawide games on PC - 18 November 2020
Ultrawide gaming monitors are the kind of hardware that might seem too excessive, maybe even a bit too gamer to bother with for playing games on PC, especially when their demanding resolutions often require powerful graphics cards to make the most of them. Once you try one, though, there’s no going back. I’ve been a big fan of ultrawide gaming monitors for years now, mostly because supported PC games just look fantastic on them. And that’s why I’ve put together this list of the best ultrawide games on PC – to show you exactly what they look like in the flesh, complete with GIFs and photos of them running on an ultrawide monitor so you can see them in motion with your own peepers.
