• Xotic Is The Strangest Game I've Played This Year - 25 November 2011

  Xotic is trying to do an awful lot within the confines of a downloadable title. After playing five or six levels I was still trying to figure out if I was "doing it right". It doesn't seem hard at all, yet each level I feel like I could of done boatloads better. Everything about this game is downright creepy and it does that well.   Xotic Update 1.4 Released Updates to Xotic have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include: * Fix for a bug that would overwrite detailed stat information on the Leaderboards (no worries, this bug did not affect the actual score); * The map screen will state whether you've earned a perfect chain on each level; * Fix for a bug that would remove the hard hologram battery in the Tutorial if replaying the level without picking it up the first time through; * Fix crash if attempting to modify keyboard mappings; * Prevented exploits from score camping with Spiderlings; We are hard at work on new levels and features for Xotic.   Xotic Update 1.3 Released Updates to Xotic have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include: * Fix for PhysX related crash on launch affecting some players; * Fix for crash while loading levels if audio sample rate is set to 96kHz or higher; * Fix for 5.1 surround sounds not playing at correct volume and improperly attenuating; * Better UI behavior in option menus; * Added a little sugar to the results screen for all of you perfect chainers out there!   Xotic Update 1.2 Released Updates to Xotic have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include: * Ability to set your Screen Resolution; * Ability to toggle on/off Glow effects; * Ability to toggle on/off Refraction effects; * Ability to set the FOV of the first person camera; * Ability to scroll through your weapons with the mouse wheel; * Fixed a bug that prevented the Epic Champion Achievement from being awarded; We are still working on addressing issues with high sample rate audio and 5.1 surround.   Updates to Xotic have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include: * Fixed results screen crashes caused by expiring Hard Holograms; * Mouse sensitivity can now be adjusted higher; * Mouse sensitivity can now be adjusted in 1% increments; * Leaderboards now display "near me" correctly; * Fixed minor font issue; * Disabled windows screensaver during game; * Mouse buttons can now be mapped to movement controls; * Refraction rendering is fixed on NVIDIA cards; We are still working on adding graphics options and addressing issues with 5.1 audio. There will be another patch coming soon. We are also working on a Demo version as well -- it should be ready within a week. Stay tuned!

Xotic is an arcade-style first-person shooter where you rack up huge scores by shooting enemies, detonating chain reactions, and discovering secret power-ups and point multipliers. Armed with a weaponized symbiotic creature called the Macroterra, you must cleanse the evil presence and re-plant the seeds of life on a planet ravaged by the minions of the Orb.
