  It's been a long time, and much has changed since ViewTracker was originally developed. Thanks to everyone who has purchased and used ViewTracker over the years. This update is a much needed refresh with big improvements to tracking accuracy and stability. I hope it brings additional joy to your gaming sessions.   Tracking has been revamped! It should be more accurate and stable, especially at extreme angles. Also several bugs have been fixed, the always online requirement has been removed, and everything has been brought up to date with the current decade.If you want to try the beta, right click on ViewTracker in your app library, select Properties -> Game Versions & Betas, then select "beta".Please report any issues by replying this announcement or emailing [email protected].

• PS3 Eye Camera Open Source Driver (32 / 64 bit) - 23 December 2018

  I have been working on a driver for the PlayStation Eye Camera and the first beta release is now available on github! Happily there were lots of open source projects out there that were of great help, including the PS3 Eye Linux driver. For those who are unfamiliar with this camera, it's an extremely good value (only $7 on Amazon right now) and it has a decent sensor which is capable of 60 FPS at a low latency. It's perfect for head tracking, but the only problem is it's designed to be used with a PlayStation 3. There is another 3rd party driver available for PC but it's only for 32 bit apps and doesn't work with ViewTracker. The new driver has only had limited testing and could still have some bugs. The good news is that it runs in user-mode so any bugs will only affect the app that's using the camera and it won't crash your entire computer like a kernel-mode driver could. It should be…

  Now you can download a free 7 day trial of ViewTracker! Just click the download demo button on the right side of the page. If you're not sure how well head tracking will work for you or you don't know whether ViewTracker will work with your particular camera and lighting conditions this is the perfect way to try it out. • Working through some launch issues - 15 September 2018

  Hi everyone, Thanks so much to everyone that has posted feedback so far. I have just made a quick update to fix an issue with Arma III and probably some other games as well. I'll work on getting other issues fixed as fast as possible. I'm also working on a guide to explain configuration options for some games. I'll try to update it with as many games as I can over time. Thank you for trying out ViewTracker and thanks for your patience while these issues get sorted out.

  I'm super excited to introduce ViewTracker — a new solution for head tracking on PC! As a PC gamer that very much enjoys a good simulation, I know how much head tracking can improve the gaming experience. There are a lot of head tracking solutions out there, but I feel like there's a need for something that's simple and inexpensive that will make it easy for more people to experience how awesome it is to game with head tracking. The only hardware that's required is a webcam. There's plenty of futuristic machine learning techie stuff going on under the hood to make that possible but for the end user it should be as easy as plugging in a webcam and pressing a button. I've put in a lot of work into getting tracking to work well with only a webcam and I couldn't be happier to be bringing it out on Steam.
