- Closing the game - 22 January 2025
Hello, everybody! Unfortunately, it is a bad news time. As you already know, the game has been on a life-support for the last few years. We've tried to keep it alive as long as possible, but it's time to shut it down. We started early access in February 2019, so the game has actually lived for 6 years. We won't talk about the incredible adventure and big plans for the future, just thank you for being with us, it's been challenging and fun. Echo of Combats will be closed by the end of january 2025.
- Campaign: Hard Mode! - 23 December 2021
Finished all campaign chapters already? Think it’s been too easy? Neither Sarah the Chief nor the noisome Yeti posed any problem? Well, old enemies may return… and become stronger! Having completed any chapter of the campaign on regular difficulty, you’ll be able to play it again in Hard Mode. The enemies will be much stronger and more vicious, and their decks will present a tough challenge even to experienced players. The stakes are high, but so is the reward! In addition, we're going to change the rating earning system in the Champion's League. From now on, at the beginning of each season, all players who have quialified for the League will see their points reset, so that everyone has equal chances to progress, which will make the competition more dynamic.
- Campaign: Chapter 2! - 18 November 2021
The Echo of Combats campaign has finally received its long-awaited new chapter! Our heroes will visit the Forbidden Forest--a mysterious and magical place, where they will learn who tried to take their lives. Explore the eldritch woods to find answers… and treasures! As a reward for completing Chapter 2, you will get chests with cards and gold coins--Ekrs. However, the denizens of this enchanted place are dangerous enemies, so don’t expect a cakewalk! Stay vigilant. And remember: Don’t feed the beasts!
- New mode: Arena! - 21 October 2021
We’re proud to present to you a new game mode: ARENA! In this challenge, you will have to create a new deck using only a random set of cards and use it to defeat as many players as you can before you suffer three losses. The more fights you win, the more handsome your reward will be. If you are able to win in 9 fights, you’ll get the ultimate prize - the World Devourer Scroll. Ah, yes, the prizes… Do you feel sometimes frustrated that you can’t keep a powerful card that you’ve found in the Arena? In Echo of Combats, it is possible! After 6 wins (the Minotaur Scroll), you’ll be able to choose a card from your Arena deck and add it to your collection! The more wins you have, the higher the rarity of the cards you can keep is. Champions of the Arena get an opportunity to keep even legendary cards. To celebrate a new game mode, each player will receive a free Arena ticket! We've also fixed…
- Balance adjustments - 12 October 2021
Globb and Prince of Thieves, the last two bosses in the campaign, have been nerfed. Now they have less health and less aggressive decks. In addition, you can now see the abilities of the current boss or a defeated boss by clicking (or with a long tap) on their portrait on the map screen. Some regular cards have also been modified: Master of pain - attributes reduced to 4/4. Bog slime - attributes reduced to 6/6. Makhmoud the Hero - gains Armor at the beginning of your turn, not in the end. Terrifier - attributes reduced to 1/2, the cost is 2 mana drops. Bogatyr - Ranged attacks deal 1 damage. Isis the Damned - attributes reduced to 1/2, the cost is 2 mana drops. Tactical marksman - the cost is 3 mana drops.
- Play with a Friend: A new mode! - 6 October 2021
From now on, you’ll be getting all the latest Echo of Combats notifications right in game! You will see all the announcements, patch notes and updates on the main screen, after you launch the game. In order to read them later, you can always click the horn icon. In the bottom of the news screen there are links to Echo of Combats pages in Steam, VK, Facebook, and Discord, where you can find other players to talk to or play with. But the main feature of this update is the new Play with a Friend mode, in which you can start a combat with a specific person (elf/cyborg/any other entity that’s also playing Echo of Combats), rather than with a random opponent. You can just share a special code that was generated in the “Room” field with your friend and click the “Play” button. As soon as your friend pastes the code in the corresponding field in their game and clicks the “Play” button, you will…

- Achievements are unlocked! - 21 October 2020
That mysterious button with a crown on it has left players wondering for a long time. Now it’s time to unveil its purpose! We’re proud to tell you that the Statistics & Achievements screen is now enabled! In this long-awaited update, we’ve added dozens of achievements to Echo of Combats, each having three levels that would earn you nice prizes. Fight, win, and collect cards, and your patience will be rewarded! Almost all achievements are available in the current version, however some levels (such as Power overwhelming) have been added for future expansions. In addition, in the same screen you will be able to see your victories in different modes, as well as the reward you would get at the end of the current season.
- The loss of game progression fixed - 11 August 2020
Hello! Few days ago we investigated a support request and found out we had an odd User Database issue. Some users had temporarily lost their game progression because of it. We restored their accounts. Sorry for inconvenience. We have a post on our forums with a list of affected users.
- An Avalanche of Updates! - 22 July 2020
We in the Echo of Combats developing team have been silent for quite some time, but we were not idle. We’ve been preparing a massive update for you that will add a number of improvements making the game even more playable and beautiful. VFX & SFX The first things that will strike your eyes are revamped card movement animations in-battle. Now, the cards are moving smoothly and pleasingly. Also, new effects for casting spells, fatigue and overdrawing have been added. Try opening a new chest—some new FX are hiding there as well! Chests are now exploding more brightly, and every card is now revealed with a splash effect that corresponds to its rarity and foil statis. Opening new booster packs has never been so appealing! There are also certain improvements in the audio department. Some old sounds have been revamped, and new SFX have been added. Buff effects and Dynamic card descriptions How…
- Attention! Maintenance! - 22 July 2020
Due to our server maintenance, Echo of Combats would be temporarily inaccessible. We are sorry for inconvenience! The works would take around 3—5 hours.
- A Massive Update! - 4 December 2019
Many of you have undoubtedly noticed that there’s been a surprising lack of news for Echo of Combats recently. That’s because our team have been busy working on a number of major updates to make the game even more interesting and player-friendly. Levelling Classes, Alignments, and Heroes The upcoming update contains the system of caste development for classes and alignments, as well victory counters for each hero. Caste levels By playing class- and alignment-specific cards in battles, the player will gradually accumulate experience in corresponding castes, levelling them up eventually. With each new level, she will gain a random free foil card of the caste--first, a silver one; then, a gold one. After all free foil cards of the caste have been acquired, the caste turns elite, and new experience can only be gained for ranked victories. However, each new level will bring a booster pack wi…
- Fatigue and burnt cards - 1 August 2019

For instance, there was the Fatigue mechanic before, but it was not visualized. Now you won't have to wonder anymore where the damage comes from, after your deckhas been depleted! As you might remember, the player's hand is limited to 10 cards. Previously, excess cards disappeared so quickly that one couldn't possible view them. Besides, that behavior seemed more like a bug. In this update, burnt cards will have better visibility, and you will always be able to view them in the combat log. We have added another convenience, that is, when pointing the mouse cursor at the deck, you will see the number of cards left, as well as the number of cards in the player's hand. Moreover, we have expanded the number of…
- Tutorial - 11 July 2019
https://cdn.steampulse.org/steam/asset?u=https%3A%2F%2Fsteamcdn-a.akamaihd.net%2Fsteamcommunity%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Fclans%2F34330004%2Ff87e87e367bf70dbeaabe80df0c1a18a86c7cfc4.png Echo of Combats boasts a number of novel mechanics, but this comes at a price. We’ve noticed that new players are finding it difficult to get the hang of all new ideas and some basic features, which can make even the simplest bot unbeatable. In order to better explain the game basics to newcomers, we’ve added a short but exhaustive tutorial, which consists of two battles. In the first battle, the player will learn the fundamentals of card games, i.e. how to play cards, cast spells and attack with their creatures. The second battle introduces some trickier mechanics, such as discarding cards, increasing Power, drawing cards, as well as ranged attacks and some other card abilities. Hopefully, this will provide all essential knowledge that is necessary to start a path to…

In fact, we’ve been busy with developing and implementing the most awaited new features. And now, we are glad to show you one of them! Just as the game was launched, we’ve been getting tons of queries about the crafting system. It took some time to implement and test this feature, but from now on you have the tool to get rid of excess cards and even make new ones! How it works When designing the crafting system, we decided not to follow the beaten tracks, as they often end up in serious long-term problems and stagnation. Instead, we’ve designed our own system that encourages experimentation and will keep your decks fresh and diverse. Smelting Any excess card copies that cannot be added into the deck (a…

There are lots of requests for new features and questions about the future of the game on the forum, so we decided to share the roadmap with you. It would be cool to give you specific dates, but we are a small indie studio, and besides working on new mechanics, we fix bugs and struggle with game servers, which is why it is very difficult for us to meet the deadlines. The development can slow down for weeks just because of a serious bug. Given all this, we will just list what we are working on at the moment and what will be released when it's done. Tutorial Echo of Combats obviously needs one. Even experienced players do not always understand some of the game mechanics. Right from the start, we have been getting a lot of negative feedback due to the fact that th…

In addition, the following updates were made: Interface - windows can be closed by clicking outside the window, changed the look and position of the buttons in the settings menu so that users do not accidentally surrender instead of closing the menu. Gold cards now look even more golden. Fixed a bug with canceling the "Battlecry" During the mulligan, the name of the hero is written above the players' nickname. Fixed many bugs related to the end of the battle
