  • 15 years after release, Gish is getting a new update - 18 December 2019

Gish is a sidescrolling platformer, released in 2004, about a sticky blob-type thing who sets off to rescue his girlfriend after she's kidnapped by a mysterious creature of darkness. It sounds weird but it's actually really good—good enough to warrant inclusion in the first-ever Humble Bundle , all the way back in 2010. And more than 15 years after release, it's also getting a new update. News of the quality-of-life update came amidst a series of tweets from Gish co-creator Edmund McMillan, who has big plans for 2020. McMillan's most recent game, The Legend of Bum-Bo , will also be getting some "fun updates" next year, including "saving/loading, quality of life polish, bonus content and more fixes," and he hopes to start revealing more about The Binding of Isaac's final expansion, Repentance , ahead of its planned release in mid-2020. "@FixItVinh and the…

  • Humble Voxatron Debut bundle expands again - 10 November 2011

As the Humble Voxatron Debut enters its final days, yet more games have been added to the 'pay what you want' indie bundle. If you buy now, or have already bought it, you'll get a selection of three "minigames" from the core game Voxatron 's developer Lexaloffle, plus, returning from the original Humble Indie Bundle, Gish . The three Lexaloffle "minigames" are puzzlers Zen Puzzle Garden and Chocolate Castle , along with platformer Japser's Journey . Gish, of course, is the sticky platformer made by folks including Edmund McMillen of Super Meat Boy and Binding of Isaac fame. While last week 's additions, The Binding of Isaac and Blocks That Matter , are only available to those who pay above the average price, these four extra games are offered to all. The Humble Voxatron Debut will only be available until Monday, so head on over to buy it .

  • Get Gish, World of Goo & More Cheap, Do Good Things - 4 May 2010

How much would you pay for a copy of World of Goo, Gish and three additional games that don't prominently feature black blobs dripping with indie cred? Thanks to the Humble Indie Bundle you pay exactly "whatever." Wolfire is offering a five game bundle that includes Aquaria, Penumbra: Overture, Lugaru, Gish and World of Goo at a pay-what-you-want rate. These cross-platform games are DRM-free and run on Mac, Windows, and Linux, so no one need complain. (Okay, OS/2 users, you can complain about being left out.) In addition to letting indie game enthusiasts name their price, Wolfire and the participating indie acts are letting buyers send their contribution directly to charity, Penny Arcade's Child's Play and the Electronic Frontier Foundation, specifically. Give it all to charity, divvy it up evenly, whatever! The fun and the good vibes from doing good are free, so be hasty with the purch…

  • The Cutest Indie Game Plushie Ever - 30 March 2010

Indie game developer Edmund McMillen goes full circle, so to speak, as Bigshot Toyworks releases a couple of plush toys based on his award-winning PC game Gish, starring a loveable ball of tar out to save his girlfriend. With a new Gish game on the horizon and a cameo by the grinning black ball in Super Meat Boy for WiiWare, it's high time we got our own version of the loveable slimeball to cuddle secretly before we go to sleep. Gish comes in two sizes, 4 inches and 8 inches, which will run you $8 and $16 respectively at the Bigshot Toyworks website .
