  Barcelona, Spain / Vienna, Austria, March 11th, 2021: Today THQ Nordic announces the incorporation of its new studio, Alkimia Interactive in Barcelona, Spain. After the Gothic Remake project was greenlit the next step was to fully set up a studio subsidiary. In Summer 2020 the studio started operations and began bringing together a team of passionate RPG developers. Since then, the studio has set up an office in the heart of Barcelona. • Gothic Remake is going ahead, following a positive response to the public prototype - 19 February 2020

  THQ Nordic are going ahead with their Gothic Remake , a do-over of the 2001 fantasy RPG. They released a public playable prototype in December and, having surveyed players, today announced reactions were positive enough for them to think it worthwhile. They did note that they’re aware that not all the Gothic Playable Teaser’s new design decisions and artistic changes were popular, and say they’ll have a think about all that before getting stuck right into the remake.   Do people want a remake of Piranha Bytes’ 2001 fantasy RPG Gothic ? Maybe, series owners THQ Nordic think, so they’ve made a prototype of a remake and last night gave it to fans to see what they think. This prototype looks all shiny and new, obviously, while also modernising other parts of the old formula.
