Public Beta Release: 1.0.830 — Aether & Iron Steam update #158419

Thanks to everyone who’s continued sharing feedback since launch.We know that some players - particularly some on older machines or with limited RAM - have been experiencing performance issues or longer load times than we’d like.Today’s update is a little different from our usual patches.We’ve released a new optional Public Beta branch on Steam that includes a significant overhaul to how Aether & Iron manages and loads assets. In our internal testing, this has resulted in:Reduced memory usageFaster load timesBetter performance on lower-spec hardwareBecause these changes affect a large portion of the game’s underlying systems, we want to roll them out gradually and gather feedback from a wider range of hardware configurations before pushing the update live for everyone.If all goes well, we’re aiming to move these improvements into the main branch within the next 1-2 weeks.We really apprec...
