When you start the game you can pick a difficulty level, which can be easy, normal, or hard. Hard is the original difficulty with several additional threats added. Normal has additional support platforms. Easy has additional respawn points, which look like green checkpoints. Just to let you know, they are not checkpoints, to save your progress you need to reach a blue checkpoint.
