- Language Support for Japanese and Chinese - 22 September 2026

Language selector (Options -> Game -> Language) Support for Japanese, Chinese Simplified and Chinese Traditional "Don't show this again" checkbox on confirmation menus Some Steam usernames overlapped the dotted line in leaderboards Separate save files for demo and full game Localisations added for demo-specific text Please report any bugs in the Steam forum. Thank you for playing! Nick
- Achievement & Memory Fixes - 19 September 2026
It's been almost 6 years since the last update to Shisensho Solitaire. While I lost a bunch of stuff to a hard drive failure, the code itself survived and has been resurrected! This latest update (v.2.2.0) fixes issues with two achievements, squashes memory leaks, and meets the ever-changing needs of the GameMaker software. Small 854x480 resolution so you can play in the corner of your desktop. "As Vivid as Life" achievement now counts season-equivalent tiles, e.g. "space" from the Night tile set. "Not Seeing is a Flower" achievement now counts the flower-equivalent "red" tiles from the Color tile set. History queue capped at 80 actions in order to prevent runaway memory usage. Bloated memory issues related to mid-game saving. Various code updates to satisfy the 2026 version of GameMaker. I'm quite nervous to put out a patch after such a long absence ("Please don't break, please don't b…
- Custom Language Files and Backup Saves - 6 December 2020
The latest update (v.2.1.1) for Shisensho Solitaire enables users to create a custom language file. I'm hoping that over time, players will voluntarily translate the game into their native languages, and share them with me so I can make them official. Credit will be given, of course! Guide: How to Make a Custom Language File Also, the game now automatically creates a local backup save file every time you play (up to 20). While I've not had any reports of players losing their progress, it's always a good idea to keep backups. For an explanation of how saving, backups and Steam Cloud work in Shisensho Solitaire, see this guide: Guide: How to Restore Progress from Backup Finally, if you missed the forum post, the previous update (v.2.1.0) added a way to cycle through all the moves available on the board when using the Hint button. Prior to that update only one move was highlighted. In addi…
- Bonus Campaign - 91 New Levels - 22 November 2020
Hi everyone, this update adds a 91-level Bonus Campaign that brings the total number of puzzles to 182. To unlock the bonus levels, complete the main campaign and an arrow will appear by the Campaign Map. This arrow will open the Bonus Campaign. The new campaign is much like the first - it starts with small, easy boards and gets progressively more difficult. You can enable Hint, Undo, Shuffle and Spotlight from the Bonus Campaign Map's "Options" button. Also, in the Audio Menu, you can now change the volume of each individual sound effect. If you find any bugs, please let me know in the Steam forums or via Twitter, and I'll race to fix them ASAP. Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy the update. :) ~ Nick @JapanGamer29

- Demo Available Now! - 1 February 2020
Shisensho now has a demo which I've made in the hope that more people will try this classic game. What can you do in the demo? In the demo, you can play Regular, Casual, Time Attack and Mini game modes without any limitations of any kind. You can even see how many times you've won in each mode. How is the Full game different? The full game has a "Player Stats" page which shows all your wins in one place, how many games you've lost, your fastest times, and your progress through the game's 30 achievements. You can also see the "Leaderboards" page which ranks your top-ten times for each board size, and view both global and friends' leaderboards. Compete with other people for the most wins and fastest times. Finally, the full game includes Steam Cloud saving for your progress. Upgrading from the demo If you enjoy the demo and would like to buy the full game - thank you! Please note that the…
- "Lose X games" Patch 1.2.5 - 7 November 2019
Hi everyone, just a small announcement: I wanted to make the "Lose X games" achievements easier to get. So now, in addition to getting "No more moves", you can also lose by running out of time in a Mini Game, or quitting any active game when paused. Oh, as a BONUS! I've included a new, alternative set of Mahjong tiles. Here's a comparison between the current set, and the new set: Find them in OPTIONS - > TILE STYLE -> Mahjong 2. One last thing for the Time Attack challengers; the previous patch, 1.2.4, added a shortcut for quickly restarting a game. Just press SHIFT + R. Thanks for playing!
- Shisensho Solitaire v.1.2 Update - 1 November 2019
Welcome one and all to the latest version of Shisensho Solitaire! Version 1.2 introduces two new board sizes to fit between "Mini" and the current "Large" size. The new boards, "Small" and "Medium", both have corresponding Time Attack leaderboards and personal top 10 rankings. You can change the board size in a Regular, Casual or Time Attack game before you click your first tile. There's a new icon in the toolbar, or just press "B". There's also a setting in Options if you prefer. By the way, pro tip, you can also change the background color on the fly. Simply press "G". :) For the achievement hunters among you, there haven't been any changes. BUT! With smaller board sizes, you should find it much faster to earn those achievements for 50 and 100 wins and losses. Can you get 100%? Sure you can! Another addition is "30 seconds" (!!) for the Mini Game timer. That may sound crazy, but a goo…
- Shisensho Solitaire v.1.1 Update - 19 October 2019
Version 1.1 of Shisensho Solitaire is a big Color and Audio update! First of all, we now have all seven songs from Keevin's album, "LoFi from the East Side album". If you like what you hear, you can support Keevin on Spotify and Soundcloud. https://cdn.steampulse.org/steam/asset?u=https%3A%2F%2Fsteamcdn-a.akamaihd.net%2Fsteamcommunity%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Fclans%2F35889657%2F74f532de30ab6ed9d238b33b5bbee0de35748a03.jpg Other big changes are: * A choice of background colors. Choose from Red, Blue, Black and Green. * Full Audio Settings. Separate volume options for Master, Music and Sound FX. * Change the Mini Game time limit: 45, 60 (default), 75 or 90 seconds. Other changes include: * New Advanced Settings for toggling image smoothing, tooltips and mouse pointers. * Briefly see the song title in the corner when a new track starts playing. You can skip a track at any time by toggling the music off and on with the "M" key. * When exiting the game f…
- Shisensho Solitaire is Now Available! - 9 October 2019
Thank you for your patience. I'm happy to announce the launch of Shisensho Solitaire. When you first start the game, I recommend going into the Options menu and playing with the settings there. Then check out the "How to Play" screen - the rules aren't quite the same as Mahjong Solitaire! Then maybe try a Casual Game, which gives you Undo, Hint, and Shuffle features. Do check out the "Player Stats" screen to see the Achievements, and from there you can access the Leaderboards. Already, the fastest Time Attack score is a lightning quick 4 minutes! You can ask me any questions in the Discussion forum. I hope you enjoy the game! Best regards, Nick Ramsay, aka JapanGamer29
