  Hello, everyone! 2021 is quickly coming to an end, and there aren't enough hours in a day to cover everything we've already begun working on and everything we're eager to start with. Although we keep discovering new challenges every day, the enthusiasm and the work drive are running strong. We're very proud of the development progress so far, and we are excited to let you in on a few newest changes to Pastel: Looking back at the initial idea of creating a visually pleasing adventure puzzle experience, we've noticed a slight disbalance between the puzzle and the adventure aspect. So what did we do to add more 'venture' into the adventure? A whole new mechanic, of course!   Ever since we first had an idea for Pastel: Blind Karma, we have imagined a colorful, vibrant, dynamic adventure. And while we are well on our way to bringing that vision to you, it's always a good thing to leave some room for backtracking and addressing some things that could have been done better. And we did exactly that! So what exactly did we do? Check it out below: 1. Pastel is now more enthusiastic about her mission! We have added a bit of a skip to her step by improving the jumping mechanics and the interaction with objects (It will now rely on indirect connection rather than simple, rigid animations). 2. We have even shown the shaders some love. They are now upgraded from presented assets to being handmade! 3. Color is love. Color is life.   Hello everyone! While work on our game continues, we want to begin introducing you to the team behind the game. To start things off, we're going jump straight into our art team! The Art Team The art team consists of Yuni Jang (South Korea) and Ilya Sipyagin (Russia) and together they bring a unique blend of both cultures and inspirations to the game. In this first team focus, we're going to look at Yuni and her experiences working on Pastel! What is your process for drawing? Our basic character creation always starts out with a hand-painted version! Normally at the beginning of the creative process, I would search for inspiration from a few sources, and after that use my imagination to get a consistent idea of what I want. Once I've got that, I draw the initial sketch. Once I'm happy with the sketch, I'll then pass it over to our 2D artists who convert it into digital art, or sometimes…

  What is Pastel: Blind Karma? Pastel is an Adventure-Puzzle game, but to dive a bit deeper, it is a single-player game that draws influence from Asian cultures and was inspired by popular games such as Rime, Journey, and Firewatch. Our name comes from an amalgamation of the words Past and Teleport and serves as both the name of the game and also the name of the main character, who happens to be a Gumiho, a legendary fox creature from Korea. What's more, time-travel and teleporting through timelines are both key aspects of our game, so Pastel is a very fitting name for us!
