- Kick players & Playlist votes - 1 September 2026
Added ability to kick players directly from the lobby 🦶. Currently it's not possible to rejoin a game after getting kicked, unless the game is restarted. Playlist votes ❤️ should now be visible, and they will affect their order (along with plays). Will use these to organise leaderboards & giveaways in the future 🏆
- Playlist Editor Update: Never Lose Your Work Again - 26 August 2026
The editor got a tune-up You've been building playlists. A lot of them. So this update goes after the small stuff that was getting in your way. Auto-save Playlist edits and song edits now save as you go. Close the tab, lose your wifi, wander off halfway through a lyric. It'll all still be there when you get back. No save button to forget about. Undo & Redo Two new buttons, exactly where you'd want them. Deleted the wrong song? Trimmed too much? Changed your mind about a song? Step back, step forward, carry on. Editing lyrics is fiddly work and the editor should cut you some slack. New browse page Community Playlists got a redesign, and every card now shows plays and likes. Easier to find the good stuff, and a bit of credit for the people making it. I'm thrilled to announce the return of Verse Surf! I've been working behind the scenes to bring the game back to the community, and I'm kicking things off with some massive news.To celebrate the game's return, I have decided to make Verse Surf **completely free**! I want everyone to be able to enjoy the game without any barriers. Whether you're a veteran surfer or riding the music waves for the first time, you can jump right in.But that's not all... I am actively working on possibly the most fun feature: **Community Playlists**! Very soon, you'll be able to create, share, and surf to custom playlists curated by the amazing Verse Surf community. Hi there fellow surfers 🏄♀️🏄♂️! It's been a great and fun experience and I want to thank you all for playing, streaming, commenting and supporting us on Discord and Steam! Unfortunately, the game has never generated enough revenue to cover it's running costs (servers, licensing) even though for the last couple of months we stopped all development and marketing spending. So, we have removed all the passes (except 1 day) for some time from the store, we have reached out to Steam and they have removed the Play Now button, and on 25 December 2021 the servers will go down. (You can still ask on our discord for free passes) I hope you've created some cool memories to look back on and smile, we sure have :).

This is a big update for us, we listened to your feedback and we've redone the monetization system to make it simpler and more player-friendly, and added a lot of new features and bugfixes. You can now enjoy unlimited games for free! The only limitation is that you can't choose the playlist, but you will get a random one.
