From the late 1970’s to the early 1990’s, this was one of the genres that dominated the golden age of arcades with classics like “Space Invaders” and “Asteroids”. It includes a large variety of styles, like the chaotic “bullet hell”, in which projectiles are coming from everywhere in different formations, to the “run ’n gun” in which the character is on foot instead of controlling an aircraft. This is certainly not new in the history of videogames, but it became an unusual choice in recent decades. A diverse cast of actors with very different backgrounds constitutes the group responsible for freeing humanity from the oppressive forces. LIUTENANT KAYA (KAYA RODRIGUES) Let's start with the one and only Liutenant Kaya, the protagonist of our story, and the one who pilots the aircrafts controlled by players during the gameplay. She's a very skilled pilot of "Foxtrot", one of the subsections of Squadron 51. The character was named after its actress, Kaya Rodrigues.
