- Lynium 2.3.3: suggested beatmaps, a new HUD and a new logo - 28 September 2026
2.3.3 suggests beatmaps you don't have right in Song Selection, puts the new logo in the game, lets a chart change tempo, redraws the in-game HUD and makes every key yours to bind. IMPORTED MAPS IN SYNC Set your offsets back to 0. ADJUSTED TIMING: every imported map got an offset adjustment, so its notes land on the music. NO MORE NUDGING: a map that used to need an offset to feel right no longer needs one. OUR ADVICE: set GLOBAL OFFSET to 0, and BEATMAP OFFSET to 0 on every map you had changed. WHEN TO CHANGE IT: you normally only need GLOBAL OFFSET for wireless headphones, or a TV without game mode. SUGGESTED BEATMAPS Songs you don't have yet, right in your list. SUGGESTED: a few sets you don't have sit among yours, each saying why it was picked. TRY IT FIRST: select one to hear its song and see its chart and its leaderboard. PLAY downloads the set and starts the chart, without leavin…
- Lynium 2.3.2: a new song selection, with the chart playing behind it - 25 September 2026
2.3.1 and 2.3.2 in one post. Song selection is rebuilt around a vertical wheel with the chart playing behind it, every beatmap has its own HP drain, and Play opens a loading screen that keeps the music going. NEW SONG SELECTION The songs on a wheel at the right, the chart falling behind them. THE WHEEL: one row per set and per chart on the right. Scroll it, drag it or fling it. THE CHART PLAYS BEHIND IT: the chart under the cursor falls in step with the song, in your skin, note speed and camera. IT PLAYS YOUR MODS: key mods, Mirror, Random, Hidden and Fade In show in the preview as they will in the run. ITS GEAR sets note speed, camera, skin, size and position, or switches the preview off. CLEAR THE SCREEN: click the art and everything fades but the chart. Click again to bring it back. THE CHOSEN CHART is a title on the art, with length, notes, combo and BPM in one band under it. THE LE…
- Lynium 2.3.0: a new interface, screen by screen - 19 September 2026
Every screen in the game has been rebuilt on one design system: one palette, two typefaces, one icon set. You pick the accent colour. ONE SYSTEM, EVERY SCREEN The game and the site finally look like the same product. ONE PALETTE: a purple here, a cyan there, one per panel ⇒ one ink ladder and one accent, everywhere. TWO TYPEFACES. Rajdhani for titles and numbers, Inter for text, sharp at any size. EVERY CORNER IS DRAWN by a shader instead of a stretched sprite. PICK YOUR ACCENT in Settings → Display: Lynium purple, magenta, violet, electric or orchid. ONE ICON SET, filled, plus nine glyphs drawn for this release. THE HOME THE SERVER CARD IS LIVE: online, players, plays this week and beatmaps, with the week as a line. THE FEATURED CARD IS A SPOTLIGHT, with the cover as its head, Play beside download, and the day's three sets in a strip. THE TOP BAR reads in the display face and lights un…
- Lynium 2.2.4: key mods, what a chart pays, and the skin editor - 15 September 2026
A key mod converts any chart you own to 3K, 4K, 5K, 6K or 7K, ranked from the first run. Every chart now says what it pays before you open it. The download browser asks the same questions the site does. And the skin editor folds, searches and resets. ANY CHART, ANY KEY COUNT Your library stops being a key count. THE CARD sits in OTHERS. Each click moves it on: off, 4 Keys, 5 Keys, 6 Keys, 7 Keys, 3 Keys. The dots under the multiplier say where you are. THE CONVERSION follows the genre's shared standard, extended. The mod sets the target column count and the converter rebuilds the chart from it. Compressing anchors a lane. Expanding spreads it over a band, so a 4K chart uses all seven columns. THE SAME CHART ALWAYS CONVERTS THE SAME WAY. The dice are seeded from the chart, so the server rebuilds what you played and prices it. RANKED FROM DAY ONE. Score x0.90 when the conversion applies,…
- Lynium 2.2.3 — Patch Notes - 9 September 2026
Long notes are three pieces now — a head, a body and a tail — and they are drawn like it. The skin editor grew a search box, three switches for the sparks, and a proper override for what a hold looks like under your finger. And the playfield can be emptied of everything that is not the chart. LONG NOTES, DRAWN PROPERLY On the field A head, a body that tiles up from the tail, and a tail. No stretched ribbon, no white slab. THE HEAD STAYS ON THE LINE while you hold it: an early press dragged the ribbon down to the line and left it there ⇒ it sits on the judgement line until the tail arrives, then the whole note leaves at once. AT 75%: the ribbon swapped texture where the hold pays its credit, and read as cut in half ⇒ the credit still pays there, and nothing on screen moves. NO MORE SHAKE: the bar was drawn after the frame it measured, so a held head sat 16–36 px under the receptor and mo…
- Lynium 2.2.2 — Patch Notes - 7 September 2026
You can now be judged on the timing you already know. Twelve presets, the games they came from printed on them, and your score, your pp and your health measured the same way whichever one you pick. And the editor charts a song by itself the moment you import it. PLAY ON THE TIMING YOU KNOW Pick the game you came from Settings → Gameplay → JUDGEMENT TIMING, or the first screen you see on a new install. TWELVE PRESETS: Lynium Classic, osu!mania OD5 / OD8 / OD10, Quaver Chill / Standard / Strict, Etterna J4 / J5 / J6 / J7, and StepMania / ITG. The ms values are printed on every one. THE COMPARE STRIP draws two window ladders on the same scale with VS between them, so you can hold any preset next to the one you are on before you commit. NEW PLAYERS GET ASKED in the first-run wizard, which now also has a Back button for the whole thing. Your score does not move Every hit is judged twice — on…
- Lynium 2.2.1 — Patch Notes - 5 September 2026
You can watch somebody else play now — live, from the chat, three seconds behind their hands. And every run you finish records itself, so you can rewatch it, hand it to somebody, and leave notes on the exact moment you want to talk about. WATCH SOMEBODY PLAY Spectating Right-click a name in the chat, hit Spectate, and you are in their run. THE FEED: their playfield, their score, their combo, their accuracy, rebuilt from a snapshot once a second. Your health bar cannot fail — it is not your run. JOINING LATE is fine. The session rewinds to where they are and carries on from there. THE BEATMAP DOWNLOADS ITSELF if you do not have it, with a progress bar and a Stop button. BETWEEN RUNS a card says what they are doing and on which chart. When they finish you get their results screen; when they start again you are already there. A CHAT ROOM PER PLAYER, down the left of the field, so everyone…
- Lynium 2.2.0 — Patch Notes - 2 September 2026
The game has a chat, and it is the same room as the Lynium Discord — type in one window, it appears in the other. And a run now draws about twice the frames it did, because the chat, the missed notes and the timing tick had all been quietly charging you for things nobody was looking at. THE CHAT Seven rooms, the people in them, and whatever you feel like sending. The window A CARD, NOT A CURTAIN: it sits in the corner with the game still visible behind it, and expands to fullscreen when you want it to. ONE ROW PER MESSAGE: avatar, name, badge, country flag and time, grouped when the same person keeps talking. DATE SEPARATORS: Today, Yesterday or the date, in your language and your timezone. SEND STATE: grey while it goes out, red with the reason if it does not. Right-click to retry, discard or copy. READING OLD MESSAGES: the view stays where you left it, and a pill counts what arrived a…
- Lynium 2.1.3 — Patch Notes - 29 August 2026
Skins used to be a text file somebody handed you on Discord. Now you build one inside the game, on a chart playing under your hands, and publish it to the Steam Workshop when you are done. THE SKIN EDITOR Every skin ever made shares the same black lanes and the same rounded-square notes. Go break that. Where it lives SETTINGS › SKIN › EDIT SKIN. Gameplay and Visuals were two tabs ⇒ one Skin tab, with the skin picker on top of it. A REAL WINDOW over a real chart playing itself. Drag it, resize it, hide it with H. EVERYTHING APPLIES LIVE — no restart, no reload, no save to see it. A TRANSPORT BAR with a timeline, a kiai badge and a drawer to pick any chart in your library. What a skin can change NOTES AND RECEPTORS: ten shapes the game draws for you — circle, ring, rounded, square, diamond, bar and four arrows — or your own file. HOLD TAILS: their own texture, colour and width. LANE EDGES…
- Lynium 2.1.2 — Patch Notes - 23 August 2026
2.1.1 recalculated what a play was worth. 2.1.2 is about what a play is: six new mods — three that end a run the moment it stops being clean and three that rewrite the chart before the first note falls — long notes that finally pay for the time you hold them, and eighteen mods that lead with their own icon instead of a three-letter code you had to learn. The weather reaches the glass in front of you, your library remembers where you have been, and every screen behind the language picker finally answers in the language you picked. SIX NEW MODS No Miss does not care how ugly you play, only that you keep playing. SSS or Nothing will end a run on a note you hit well — just not well enough. Three ways to lose No Miss, Perfect and SSS or Nothing share one card in Others. Clicking it cycles off ⇒ No Miss ⇒ Perfect ⇒ SSS or Nothing ⇒ off, with a step dot for each. Each one sets a bar and ends t…
- Lynium 2.1.1 — Patch Notes - 20 August 2026
2.1.0 gave the game a memory. 2.1.1 goes back and corrects it. Every star rating in the catalogue and every pp in the game were recomputed on a new formula — one that measures the hardest part of a chart instead of its average, and that pays a play from the server instead of trusting whatever the client said. Your totals moved. Some of your positions moved. There is a panel on your profile that shows you exactly what happened and why, and the rest of this patch is the game around it: a retry that takes five seconds instead of thirteen, a settings screen built for this game, and beatmap pages that can finally be argued with. PERFORMANCE POINTS, RECALCULATED Read this one. It is the reason your rank looks different. The star rating measures the hard part now The old rating divided by the mean of every gap between notes. A mean tells you how dense a chart is on average, which is not what m…
- Lynium 2.1.0 — Patch Notes - 17 August 2026
2.0.3 made the game honest. 2.1.0 gives it a memory. The screen at the end of a run was eleven numbers in a grid that told you the score and nothing about the run; it is now a whole scene that shows the performance points you had been earning invisibly, draws every hit you made, and has something to say when you do something extraordinary. There is a grade above SS that accuracy alone can never reach. A beatmap can bring its own video and its own weather. And a link on the website now opens the exact chart, in the game, on your machine. THE RESULTS SCREEN Everything the game knew about your run, and none of it on screen. The old screen was a grid of labels and values with the score at the bottom, and size was the only hierarchy it had. This one is a new scene, generated rather than restyled, and it lands one block at a time: the header, the score, the stats, the six judgments one by one…
- Lynium 2.0.3 — Patch Notes - 13 August 2026
2.0.2 made the game fast. 2.0.3 makes it honest. The clock that decides where your notes are is now the same clock that plays the song, your Steam face follows you onto every leaderboard, and the site finally has a board where a score set this afternoon can sit at the top of something. SYNC FIX The change you cannot see, and will feel on the first frame spike. A run used to keep two clocks. One read the song and judged your hits. The other added up wall-clock time, frame by frame, and decided where the notes were drawn. While the machine kept up, they agreed by luck. One stutter and they stopped agreeing — and the drawing clock never caught back up, so the notes stayed out of sync for the rest of the song. There is one clock now, and the audio is the truth. AFTER A SINGLE SPIKE: up to 291 ms behind, permanently ⇒ nothing lost DRIFT: unbounded ⇒ 4.3 ms average, 16.8 ms at worst HARD RESY…
- Lynium 2.0.2 — Patch Notes - 12 August 2026
2.0.0 rebuilt the game. 2.0.2 is about making it feel rebuilt. Two new visibility mods that stack with everything you already run, a Song Selection screen that finally looks the way the game plays, and a launch that takes a fraction of the time it used to. And a website, so your rank lives somewhere other than your own screen. WE HAVE A WEBSITE lyniumgame.com is live. See your rankings, compare yourself against every player on every chart, and share your results with people who are not sitting next to you. WORLD RANKINGS for 4K, 7K and Standard, paged all the way down BEATMAP BROWSER with plays, likes and every difficulty in the set NEWS, live player counts and activity, straight from the same tables the game reads NEW MODS Hidden (HD) The notes leave before they reach the line. You keep playing them anyway. SCORE: +10% STACKS WITH: Fade In, and every speed mod Fade In (FI) The runway s…
- Lynium 2.0.0 — The Creation Update - 7 August 2026
Lynium 2.0.0 is here, and it is the biggest release the game has had. Almost every screen you touch has been rebuilt: the beatmap editor is new from the ground up, song selection and the world rankings were redesigned, and finding, downloading and sharing beatmaps finally works the way it should. A brand new Beatmap Editor The editor was rebuilt from scratch. The playfield now reads exactly like the one you play on — same lanes, same notes, same feel — so what you build is what you get. The music, drawn behind your notes. A live spectrum sits under the playfield, mirrored from the centre and lined up with your offset, so placing notes stops being guesswork. Toggle it from the SPECTRUM chip. Beats numbered down the side of the playfield, counted straight through the song instead of restarting every bar. Toggle it from the BEATS chip. 2D and 3D views with redesigned view controls, and rea…
