- Important Development Announcement - 24 February 2021
Hello everyone and sorry for taking so long to update you, I know it's been a long time since I've made a post regarding the game and the status of the latest updates so I'm making this announcement to fill you in on what's been happening. The first issue I would like to discuss is the delays in development and projected updates. Due to unforeseen events that have taken place over the last couple of months development has come to a temporary hold. I know a lot of you were looking forward to the updates such as melee weapons new UI and Bug fixes for multiplayer parties and fine-tuning the gameplay mechanics however at this time I cannot continue development at the pace I've started the project with. This does not mean the game is cancelled or the development has stopped forever. What it does mean is that until I am able to take care of some pressing issues in my personal life I will not…
- Multiplayer Optimizations & UI - 19 December 2020
In this update for bloody horde, I've added a new main menu and Lobby as part of the user interface overhaul. There's still much more to be done to the user interface which will be rolled out over the next few weeks. Things like settings menus Bobby's and end game screens will be getting an update. The next big part of the update is the line tracing for the weapons system has been updated and further optimized for multiplayer. During the testing phase for this update, I found that the performance for multiplayer games has greatly improved. In a 3 player game at wave 20, there were no lag or latency issues found. I will continue taking user feedback and testing the client in order to fully optimize the gameplay and provide a seamless experience. All of the weapons should handle exactly how they did before but if you find any issues please report them either in the Discord or on the commu…
- Weapon Sounds, Drops, Sprint Speed. - 29 November 2020
Over the past few weeks, I've been working on changing the gun sounds with new, more realistic gunfire sounds. Each weapon received a new sound asset with the exception of the plasma launcher, boom tube, and plasma blaster. I've also made some adjustments to the new UI sounds. Weapon sounds were one of the main complaints I remember reading in the comments during live streams so I made it the top priority for the last few weeks to get them changed. I will continue to make changes like this in the future based on community feedback. I've also adjusted the zombie boss by lowering the base health by 1000. Blocking volumes were added to the antenna towers on the roof of map 1. Sprint speed has been increased by 20. The mower's rate of fire has been dropped slightly and the damage has been increased. There was a previous update also added to steam a few weeks ago I posted the details in Disc…
- Lights! Sonds! Frames! - 30 October 2020
Thanks to community feedback I have added a few features that you guys ( and gals ) should enjoy! Power Up drops now change color 10 seconds before despawning. Wall buy weapons now change color when a player is in the interaction range. Weapon box changes colors when active and resets color when finished. New Sounds FX for drops and purchases. Traps have an indicator light for their cool downs. To help combat multiplayer sync issues and general performance issues, the framerate is locked to 60 FPS for all players and the setting has been removed from the settings menue.
- Spooky Season Update! - 27 October 2020
This week I have made some changes to the enemy AI so they are more aggressive! The Ai has a larger attack range and improved collision, as well as a new goal location system for targeting players which makes the pathfinding more organic. The zombies also have slightly increased movement speed in lower waves. There is now a Controls Menu off of the Main Menu where players can see the keybindings for the keyboard and controller. ( Currently, remapping is not available ) Animation fix for player characters: Running with rifle animation now loops perfectly without a jump frame between loops. Stepping audio resynced to animation. Reduced RPCs: Changes to code in player characters and Zombie characters which should help with network performance. Player Aim / Crouch Speed: Reduced from 275 to 265 Character Flashlight: Changes made to the flashlight to help with general performance. Doors on M…

- Quick Patch - 12 October 2020
Hello everyone here is a quick update on today's patch. There was a lighting issue causing reflections to not render properly on some characters ( Dark almost black helmet with no reflection ) this has been fixed as well as the ramps in Arena 1. The Stairs have invisible ramps to make the navigation easier for the ai however they were set to visible which is a big oversight on my part. I apologize for leaving those visible as they take away from the environment and the experience. I regret not catching this sooner as it has been that way for 3 days and that is not acceptable. In the future, I will be sure to triple-check before setting any future builds to public. Happy Hunting!
- Launch Update! - 9 October 2020
Here it is the Launch Update! In this update, You will find new modles for the wall buy weapons and the random weapon box! New hologram materieal for the lobby character place holder and more path varaition for the enemies. The rest of this update consists of performance improvement and network improvments for multiplayer. Updated the spectator camera to have less jitter. More updates to come so stay tuneded! In the next update, I plan to update the menues and player HUD as well as fix any bugs found by the player community. We encourage all players to report bugs whenever possible on the discussion borad or in the discord as it help bring a higher quality gaming experience to everyone! Welcome to all of the new players :)
- Multiplayer and Optimization Update! - 2 October 2020
In this week's update, I reworked the zombie health system and adjusted the weapon damage accordingly. I Also patched some replication issues that were causing players and zombies to zip around the map on higher waves in Multiplayer. The "back" button for the server browser was not appearing at some desktop resolutions, this has been fixed, Traps now to more damage to zombies in higher waves. In the next update, I hope to further optimize the multiplayer game mode and work on any bugs that get reported. You can report any bugs to the discord (still under construction) or Email [email protected]. You can also report bugs on the community discussion board. Stay safe and have fun everyone!
