Greetings, Operators! A new Major Update #1 is now available on the Default branch! We have been analyzing your reviews and surveys to see which changes we can implement first. We have seen some mentions that the game is too blue and that the visual side of the game isn't very appealing. That's why we have decided to overhaul the visuals. You can compare the results below: Previous Version: Current Version: Other than that we have decided to focus on improving the efficiency of the units and their tools and making them cheaper, due to several requests in this area. - Update 1.0.1 - New mission order + all missions unlocked - 27 October 2024
Greetings, Operators! Thank you, everyone, for giving Riot Operator a chance. We are aware that many of you have expected more from this game. So at the beginning, we want to address this subject directly. Many of you have hoped for this game to be a sequel to 911 Operator or 112 Operator games. But the truth is, those games - while still indie - were made by a much bigger team, Jutsu Games. The team that is currently developing Infection Free Zone. Riot Operator was developed by the Beta 2 Games team, a much smaller studio based in Brazil, that has much smaller experience in creating PC games. Of course, we understand that in your eyes this does not justify us in any way. Because at the end of the day, what you care about most is being able to play a good game. That's why we only want to ask for one thing. For your patience. We will do our best to improve the Riot Operator as much as w…

- Development Status Update #8 - Advanced Police Vehicles - 10 July 2024
Greetings, Operators! Today we are proud to show you two new vehicles that are joining the police forces - the Riot Truck and the Water Cannon Truck! While the basic Police Car has only two slots for the police staff and limited usability, those two new advanced vehicles provide additional power if you can afford them. Riot Truck Riot Trucks have two significant advantages over the basic Police Car: An ability to transport a full police squad consisting of 5 members, A special frontal construction that allows them to move faster through the crowds of protesters. When every second matters, the Riot Truck can help you with getting your Police Units to where they are needed the most. Check how the Riot Trucks perform in the videos below: Water Cannon Truck Water Cannon Truck doesn't allow to transport the whole Police Squad, but its strength lies elsewhere. Water Cannon Truck will help you…
- Development Status Update #7 - New UI - 5 April 2024
Greetings, Operators! Riot Operator is getting closer and closer to the final version of the game that we wanted to create since the beginning. Right now, we are introducing a number of changes, while also focusing on four core areas that are mandatory for us in order to release the Riot Operator on Steam. Our current goals The four core areas for Riot Operator that we focus on during the development at the moment: New User Interface Save System Having 8 balanced scenarios on different cities worldwide, each with unique gameplay Rebalancing the Riot Dispersing mechanics to make it more engaging for the player New UI We are happy to let you know that the new UI is ready! Some of you, who have played the game during the demo festival, might remember the old "grayish" color scheme that we have used for a long time. But we have finally added the UI that is more in line with the initial trai…

Development Update - Alpha Stage We are extremely happy to reach this huge milestone. Most of the mechanics are set up and we are focusing on things like balance and polishing now. It's also very important for us to bring more content to the game. While we won't be able to release the game in 2023, we certainly aim to launch Riot Operator in 2024. We will also try to share the closed beta with you somewhere in the Q1 or Q2 of the next year! Applications will be opened via Google Forms and we hope to gather at least much feedback from you, as we did last time during the demo. But more about this in the…
- Riot Operator - Post Demo Update - 20 July 2023
Greetings, Operators! The dust has settled and we finally have a moment to summarize the last Steam Next Fest that we have joined with Riot Operator. First of all - a huge thank you to everyone who played the game during the event. We are glad that so many players gave Riot Operator a chance. What's also very inspiring - the reception of the game is also better than ever. Steam Next Fest Summary Before we launched the demo for the Steam Next Fest, we did a quick closed test with a limited group of fans. We have received a lot of honest feedback and a lot of issues were brought to our attention. We started tackling them one by one, focusing on the areas that were mentioned most frequently. This approach has brought us some great results. While the game is still in progress, we are happy to let you know, that basically all the areas were rated higher after the Steam Next Fest. To summariz…

- Development Status Update #5 - Vehicles - 19 January 2023
Greetings, Operators! Best wishes from the Beta 2 Games team to all our followers in the New Year! We hope to finally deliver Riot Operator to you in 2023, even though we don't have the exact launch date for you yet. Still, we recommend checking our announcements on regular basis to stay updated about potential upcoming beta tests for the game! Vehicles Playing Riot Operator is all about efficiency. Your budget is limited and you will have to constantly assess whether it's better to hire new units or provide your experienced members with a new vehicle. The advantage is obvious - a vehicle allows you to move across the map faster. It becomes especially important when people's lives are at stake and every minute counts. Moving your units with an ambulance, fire truck or police car will allow you to react to incidents swiftly. But the number of units a vehicle can hold is limited. For exam…
- Development Status Update #4 - Police Equipment - 23 November 2022
Greetings, Operators! We have shown you the barriers last month, and now it's time to take a closer look at the full range of equipment that is available to the police units! While medics and firefighters don't have as many tools at their disposal, it's always good to analyze your current needs, when it comes to the police. Are there any aggressive rioters? Do you have to close the movement for certain streets? Prepare for your job accordingly and your duty will get way easier. Police Equipment You can equip your units with the following equipment: Barriers - to stop the movement in certain areas, Plastic handcuffs - very useful when dealing with aggressive rioters. Arresting agitators will help you with controlling the crowds. Mind you, arresting too many rioters will result in a negative reputation! Police batons - increases the offensive capability of the unit. Ordering the units to…
- Development Status Update #3 - Barriers - 26 October 2022
Greetings, Operators! Our work on the Alpha build for Riot Operator is as busy as ever! Right now we are focused on adding new equipment and features for existing units. A great example of such equipment is a barrier that prevents the crowd from passing through a certain area. Barriers The barriers have some interesting features that are unique to them: A barrier can block the crowd, but it has its limits. If the crowd gets too big, it is possible to destroy the barrier. The more barriers you buy for the police unit placing the barrier, the longer barrier you can create. Placing barriers in strategic places will make your job way easier! Early visualization Below is the video with an early version of the barrier, showcasing its utility! Right now, it is quite short from the visual perspective and we plan to change the look of it slightly, but you can see how the general process of using…
- Development Status Update #2 - 3 August 2022
Greetings, Operators! The second Development Update is here! The vertical Slice phase of the development is officially over and now we are working on the alpha build for Riot Operator. We know that we aren't posting as often, as you would like us to, but hopefully, you will like all the new elements that we are implementing in the game. Let's take a quick look at the recent changes! Score System Overhaul Previously, the player was obtaining or losing points based on his actions towards the main objective. Additional points were possible to get when completing side incidents. The system was fair but felt unrewarding at times. We have recently made adjustments to it, providing the player with points dynamically based on their actions. For example - now it's possible to fail a side mission, which tells us to chase away rioters from a place, but still gain points due to attending to the wou…
- Development Status Update - 26 January 2022
Greetings, Operators! The Steam Page has been published for a while now, but we haven't had a chance to talk to you directly yet. We are Beta 2 Games and in co-operation with our publisher, Games Operators, we are creating Riot Operator, an exciting simulation game about riot control management. This is our biggest project up to date, so keep your fingers crossed for us! We want to do our best with this game! Vertical Slice So where are we exactly at the moment? We are finishing the "vertical slice" phase, which is considered a small, fully playable portion of the game, containing most of the mechanics that are planned for the full project scope. Some minor visual improvements have also been made and the game is shaping up to look really nice in its minimalistic aesthetic. After that, we will work on the alpha build and later on - the beta build - which might be especially interesting f…
