  • Thank you (Dev #4) - 6 April 2021

Release So, the game released nearly a week ago. First of all, thank you to everyone that has played it! The release went more or less how we expected and we're quite happy with it. Very soon after came in some bugs related to achievements which we promptly fixed, and after that, a major bug as Windows 7 users could not get past the main menu. This is our fault as we don't actually have access to a Windows 7 machine and just assumed it worked because of Unity. Leading up to release There was a bit of a rough time as we were constantly working up to the release hour. Just a day before release we found out a major bug that was making the game unplayable and we even considered doing a last minute delay. In the end it wasn't needed as we managed to fix that bug and some others :) The music and extra sound effects were added on the release day, that's how close we were. About that achievemen…

  • Update v1.0.7 - 5 April 2021

Version 1.0.7 Fixed cars appearing in the middle of the screen for a single frame.

  • Update v1.0.5 and v1.0.6 - 4 April 2021

Version 1.0.6 Fixed main menu video fallback running even through the video was loaded. Version 1.0.5 Tweaked collision shapes for train wagons and all cars. Fixed unlocking all skins achievement even though the session was being tainted. Fixed error that happened when trying to print to the console and the console was closed. Added image fallback for splash screen and main menu videos. -- This should fix the issues that Windows 7 users were having. Lowered requirement for 'Bullet Train' achievement from 70% to 50%. -- We felt that the achievement was pretty much impossible, we weren't even sure if it was possible, so we've lowered it to make it more attainable. It's still supposed to be a hard one though :)

  • Update v1.0.4 - 1 April 2021

This patch fixes the issue of the last skin not being unlocked. If you already completed the Lava level, do it again in order to unlock the final skin. Version 1.0.4 Fixed skull skin not being unlocked in Lava level.

  • Update v1.0.3 - 1 April 2021

Version v1.0.3 Fixed catastrophe achievement not being unlocked reliably. Renamed cvar "wagons" to "t_wagons". (#67) Added cvars to replace the Development Menu: t_minspeed, t_maxspeed, l_carspeed, l_carspawntime, l_score. Added cvar to check session taint: g_tainted.

  • Update v1.0.2 - 1 April 2021

Small patch. Patch notes for both 1.0.2 and 1.0.1. Version 1.0.2 Removed developer menu. Changed the way console variables work. Added "wagons" cvar to the levels. Added session taining to commands that were missing it. Added warning in console about when using commands. Added flag to the description of every console command that taints the session. Fixed achievements being unlocked in Steam when the game booted up in a tainted session. Version 1.0.1 Fixed "You really are a trainwreck" not unlocking.

  • Preparing for release (Dev #3) - 23 March 2021

Hello! We've been working whenever we can on Loopomotive since the last development blog and you might have noticed that we've marked the game for release. The game will be released on March 31 2021! Preparing for the release March 31 had been the target date since we had decided to make the game for Steam. We were comfortable that this gave us enough time and we haven't felt much pressure although there is still some features and bugs that we'd like to add and iron out before release, but the game is perfectly playable :) How the game was made Current work There's still one feature we'd like to add before it releases and that is train Skins. There's also strange a bug where cars sometimes disappear (very rarely) which we're looking at. With skins, you can customise your train Why is the game free You might be thinking it's a 'free to play' game, but actually no, it's a FREE game. We're…

  • Polishing (Dev #2) - 20 February 2021

Hello, welcome to our Development Blog #2! The game has progressed a fair bit and we've now entered the polishing and wrapping up stage. This means that we've finished most of the main content and now we have to tie up systems like Main Menu, Save & Load, Settings, and so on. Also take the time to improve graphics and other tiny things everywhere. Progress Levels are done! ːwinter2019happyyulː We have created and finished all the levels that we want to release with. 15 levels, all with unique art and different track or premise. However, there's still a lot that can be done on these levels. Tiny touches and polishing to make the experience better. We have also locked in the overworld progression for the levels, and in the progress we even got some ideas for possible future levels. Main Menu We've started working on the new main menu. Up to this point we've had the same one from Ludum Dar…

  • Hello, Loopomotive (Dev #1) - 5 February 2021

Hello everyone! This is our first development blog, ever, so bear with us :) Who we are We're Shy Pixel, our adopted group name. We're 2 people, we're shy and we've always had some passion for everything game related. One of us is specialized in Programming and the other in Art. So there's a lot of stuff in the middle that we have to branch out and figure out ourselves. We've been working on Loopomotive ever since the game came out from Ludum Dare. The progress hasn't been up to what we probably wish, as we both have to deal with full-time jobs on the side, but we're quite proud and eager to share of what we've done so far. This isn't the first time we're working on a game together, but it is the first in what we consider to be more than a "demo". Loopomotive will be free as we're not looking into making money from it. Progress Levels, levels and more levels Our Ludum Dare entry had onl…
