- The Characters of PYRENE - 7 August 2023
Welcome once more for some news on our upcoming game, Pyrene! We have been very pleased with the response from Forward players and we wanted to share more with you on the game. Today we’re going to explore some of the stories of the characters in the game starting with Atanaïa, “thy who does not die” in Greek. She grew up an orphan who found kindness and family at the village and seeks now to help those who helped her when she was most vulnerable. Her greatest weakness is how easily she can be influenced and through her adventure in Pyrene she will learn to face this weakness and overcome it. Our second character is Mathilda, the village blacksmith who has had to grow up quick and grow up strong. Happy Spooktober everyone, If you have not heard of Forward: Escape the Fold - it's a card-based roguelike where you must continuously go FORWARD in order to escape the dungeons. The game was released in March and stands at a "Very Positive" rating on Steam (with 400+ reviews). You can try it out here! To celebrate the Ultimate Edition of the game, I have added to the game an EXCLUSIVE challenge to the game themed around Halloween. This is a permanent event! The challenge will consist in a 4 starting item build: Living Heart: Replaces all Heart cards with item cards Monster Skull: Adds 3 enemies in all future levels Monster Bone (x2): Gives -1 to enemy cards Healing Ring: After using your power, you heal by 4HP Successfully winning this challenge will award the player a NEW object card: the Jack-O'-Lantern

Hello everyone, It's been a while since the game got updated - the waiting ends NOW! This update brings all the content I really wanted to bring the game and that I couldn't include earlier. The Fold is a dungeon made of cards. I have a choice between three of them, which might represent a monster to fight, gold to loot, a potion to drink, and so on. Update 1.1.0 was launched on Sunday but there were some bugs found by the Discord community very quickly. So I implemented a hot-fix soon after which is update 1.1.1 - decided to stall the announcement to make sure there weren't any new issues discovered. Now though I'm confident it's time for you guys to try it out for yourselves :) There's a lot of new stuff to try and I hope you'll enjoy trying out the new objects and challenges especially! Hello everyone, one weeks has now gone by since the launch and it's crazy for me to see the overwhelming amount of feedback and reviews the game has received! There's so many things I want to tweak to make the game even better and rest assured, I'm working on it! Features: You can now use Space to trigger the power and skip story (if keyboard controls are enabled). Enemies can no longer appear on the last two rows before the boss. The visualization of the selected power is more explicit. Balancing: Rework Transmutation power. Iron block new gives 7 armor durability instead of 10. Starts with 14 HP instead of 15 and 2 armor. Tornado power makes more different cards appear. Bug fix: “Increase in Power” now doubles values correctly. “Return” power with “power ring” could sometimes leave the path empty. The statuses are triggered correctly in the tuto and the “mini-levels”. Correction of (too many) spelling mistakes.
