• An unexpected turn and future plans - 17 March 2023

  This week has been a full on chaos at our small studio. For us it came out from nowhere an email dropped in my inbox stating Epic Store was letting in anyone to release their game in the same way steam was as of that moment. Cue us dropping everything we had going on to get both of our released games into an Epic ready state, luckily for us Epic on one week of hardcore working seems to be a functional and well put together environment to release games, so most things went down without a hassle. Now the week is nearing its end(work wise, still a lot of fun time left) and we have successfully posted both games as under review. Fingers crossed they will be released in the near term. Now with that small gap in our work on the improvement on Clockwork Survivors we are back on track. Both on working on the mobile version and bringing you a new update hopefully including what we call internall…

• 1.1.1a Fixing the Difficulty - 10 March 2023

  The amount of environment traps have been dialed down. A few combinations were too taxing on the hp bar. Bugfixes: Overlapping dream zones no longer stop you completely The helmet shield no longer gets you hit by spikes

• 1.1.1 Environment Effect Efficacy Enlarged - 3 March 2023

  Environment Effects in (full) force The game has found itself a new abundance of environment effects or lack thereof. Old players might notice the lack of spikes and acid pools in some runs and that because we have reached another level in closing in on our new feature under the codename "Arena". Every run now randomized which environment effect/trap shall bear your grace each time you press play. Full list is: Spikes Acid Pools Triple Spike with reward Fireballs Spikeballs Dream Zones Spawner Vents Spinning Pinwheel Blade Upside down spikes ːsteammockingː Bounce Pad Your play shall find a bit more variance than prior, all systems will be further improved in the future. • Boss-o-Clock Patch 1.1 - 18 February 2023

  Like teased yesterday in the small quick post today is the patch for boss time. Patch 1.1 introduces the first element of prelude to the true ending update which was teased in the Roadmap(roadmap visible at the end), aka boss 1 one. With the next patch we hope to have given you the whole prelude to the true ending package, including another boss, more proper ending animations and some interesting stuff for each lap.   We are live! Everyone get in here, you can now play the fantastical, non-oppressive and colorful adventure that is Clockwork Survivors! Roadmap Expect bug fixes and improvements to drop in during this week, everything else will follow shortly. Our gears are turning and we won't stop.

• Playtest and Level Ups - 25 January 2023

  Before the post falls into some more depths of Laps and Level ups, I urge you to try out the game on its playtest (available now) with some additions showing up on Friday. When light first shone from the sun, fate gave you three choices... In actuality of course it was me, us from from the Cool Smithy Games gang, that give you three choices upon both completion of lap and level up. Your choice in growing more powerful happen in those two instances in the prior sentence, but let us start with the classic level up. Level ups are simple--achieved by gaining enough experience points, but with the minor twist that experience points are physics objects and will slide around, sometimes forever lost in a pit of acid.   The core of the world was built around clockwork. An endlessly interesting and mesmerizing topic to research and peer into. Machines were soon taken away from reality and added magical properties, what better catchall to have than deem it magical. Before we had gone further deep into designing what we wanted, color and the insubstantially substantial goal of feeling was broached. While our previous game Dr. Professor Scientist’s Weapons Testing Facility was not a bleak game by a long shot, what we wanted was a departure from anything bleak.
